Hera's first deep space manoeuvre is underway!
On 23 October, @ESA_Hera fired its three orbital control thrusters for ~100 minutes to line it up for next year's gravity assist at Mars. A second, smaller burn on 6 November will be used to iron out any inaccuracy from the first.

The @esa's #HeraMission has captured its first images of Earth and the Moon from over 1 million kilometers away.
The images were taken using three key instruments: the Asteroid Framing Camera, Thermal Infrared Imager, and HyperScout H. These instruments will later study the asteroids Dimorphos and Didymos as part of planetary defense efforts. Each image showcases the Earth and Moon from different perspectives, helping to test and calibrate the spacecraft’s systems.
