Exactly. The shuttle was “reusable” but required so much refurbishment that it cost more than expandable rockets. F9’s reusability enabled much lower prices and higher cadences. That’s why F9 flew more in 2025 alone than the Space Shuttle flew in its entire 30y service history.

I really like where Starlink is heading- it’s evolving far beyond just a dish. With the new satellites rolling out, phones will connect directly to space: no extra hardware, no towers, no dead zones. Texting, voice, data, and eventually full 5G-like performance, even during outages like after Hurricane Melissa. This could be a real game-changer for Jamaica compared to traditional providers.
