I’m not a gun person, so your point is fair. From what I understand, that firearm can fire around 50 rounds a minute, is that right? Either way, as someone who isn’t comfortable around guns, seeing someone carry that thing in public would be terrifying.
What I struggle with is the inconsistency. You call Alex Pretti’s decision to carry a small concealed gun a lapse in judgment, but Kyle’s judgment doesn’t seem to get the same scrutiny. If we want to be intellectually honest, we should be using the same standards for everyone, not just the people we agree with.
Kyle went through the legal process and a jury found him not guilty. If we respect that outcome, why wouldn’t we expect the same due process for the people who shot Alex? I honestly don’t understand why that shouldn’t apply equally.
