This trash blowing around in the wind, that many believe are space aliens, is absolutely some clown's cluster of helium balloon garland that took flight without his approval. Probably cost him $200 in merchandise, and the government tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure out what it is. You can even see the balloon arches branching out.

In the US, building protocol is generally to have doors swing into the bathroom, not outward, so they're not out in the middle of the hall hanging around when open. We have locks, but it seems like an unspoken norm to leave the door open when the bathroom is vacant in residential houses. That way you don't have to knock every time its closed incase someone is in there. But everyone is different depending on house rules.

Honestly the food difference here is immaterial. Not everyone feels the need to gorge the first chance they get at an all-inclusive meal, and some people do because they never have the chance. that's fine.
