🇩🇪 Germany is considering deploying frigates and Eurofighter jets in Greenland On January 16, 2026, Germany’s Ministry of Defense confirmed its readiness to significantly increase its military contribution to Greenland’s security. Berlin is considering the deployment of heavy equipment to the island. “This is about assessing how secure the Arctic is and to what extent we can contribute to its protection alongside our NATO partners. This includes planning exercises, using P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, deploying frigates or other naval units for maritime surveillance, and potentially stationing Eurofighter jets,” a German Defense Ministry spokesperson said.
