As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to an end, we're remembering our glorious production of Treemonisha, written by Scott Joplin in 1911 but not fully staged until the 1970s. Treemonisha is about a Black community living in Arkansas in the 1880s and reckoning with the legacy of slavery.
