@mcquack306 i get your point, but i just don’t think that number is true at all. 1P ONLY games maybe 10%, but not all. GTA VI, likely to be the biggest game ever made and sold, will be singleplayer, but it will ALSO be multiplayer

@HitmanGFX44 @YorchTorchGames doesn’t matter if the initial sales don’t cover it (they will; the game is 80-100 fucking dollars), online will. GTA Online made 5 billion. that covers development of like 2.5 GTA VIs (using the $2 billion cost figure)

Weaponizing community notes is peak slacktivism. This is what, the second or third one now?
The note doesn't even make sense. It claims that moving entirely digital raises "anti-consumer concerns." The irony is that consumers themselves are the ones who killed the physical market, by pure revealed preference via spending habits.
People are essentially just writing notes to each other to feel better about losing. It provides the dopamine hit of feeling like they "got one over" on PlayStation, without requiring them to actually do anything meaningful. This is lamer than turning off auto renewal on PS Plus or posting photos giving the PS5 a middle finger.

@SnapBlastPLAY no, choosing console over saving a while longer for a PC (or just building something comparable for a similar price) was the fumble—in hindsight of course. PS5 was the clear winner, but now both companies have anti-consumer outlooks publicly

if the playstation goes digital only, it completely misses the point for me
you can build a pc instead and buy digital games from 10 different marketplaces + you won't need ps+ for playing online
the only advantage is exclusive games but there are 2 of them now anyways so it doesn't matter anymore

@drpepper_33 what he’s saying is that basically at any point sony or microsoft or nintendo can push an update that requires you to be online to play physical. if your console gets infected by that malware of an update, it’s basically cooked. bit of a stretch, but technically possible.
