I left $30. Tipping isn’t a political statement, it’s literally how some folks pay rent. If you go out knowing that and still can’t cover it, maybe the bold “I proved a point” speech is just a budget shortfall with better PR. Ran up a $1500 dinner tab and when the receipt came back they had those cute little “suggested tips” printed like I’m supposed to casually drop another $300 just because someone carried plates from kitchen to table. I left $25 which honestly felt generous considering I already paid restaurant-level prices for the food itself. Server immediately got weird about it, attitude switched, barely a thank you, just that tight smile people do when they think you violated some unspoken rule. I told her straight up tipping isn’t a percentage subscription service and I’m not funding someone’s rent just because the bill happened to be high. Manager wandered over trying to smooth it out, hinting about “industry standards” like that magically obligates me. That only made me dig in harder because nowhere else do you get charged more for the exact same task just because the total went up. So I signed it exactly how it was, stood up, and walked out while they all stared like I committed financial treason, and if they think I’m coming back there to play along with that system again they’re seriously confused. 🚨DHS agents are now assaulting and arresting DEAF high school students… and then claiming they “failed to comply” with verbal commands they physically could not hear. In the video, protesters begin running. Multiple agents immediately tackle a high school student to the ground as people around them shout that he is deaf. The agents ignore them, and take him anyway. Later, DHS claimed Anthony Paredes was arrested for “failure to comply with directions”… directions that were given verbally, to a student who could not hear them. Read that again. They charged a deaf student for not following spoken commands. Paredes later signed on social media that DHS came outside, started chasing a woman, chaos broke out, and as people ran, agents chased him, assaulted him, and arrested him… despite him not being the target and despite being deaf. But it gets worse… After arresting him, they did not provide an interpreter. A clear violation of disability law. While detained, he tried to mouth that he needed to use the bathroom. Agents shrugged and ignored him, because he was deaf. This is brutality, an illegal arrest, excessive force, disability discrimination, and denial of basic human needs… all committed by federal agents who knew exactly what they were doing. And DHS still expect you to believe this is about “public safety.”
