Ford remotely shut off this brand-new Bronco on a busy expressway over ONE late payment. 😱 Guy’s out here with a new Bronco that has only 3,000 miles on it, and Ford just killed the engine while he’s in 60 mph traffic. He’s standing on the side of the road, trucks and cars whipping past, saying he could get killed and that Ford has no idea how rough it is out here. He even wonders out loud if this is basically a scam. Hard questions we should all be asking: • How is it legal (or safe) for a company to remotely disable a vehicle while it’s moving on a public highway? • What happens if this happens to someone with kids in the car, or in the middle of nowhere, or during a medical emergency? • If you finance a car, do you really own it… or are you just renting permission to drive until they decide otherwise? • How many other vehicles already have this kill-switch capability built in that most of us don’t even know about? • And if they can shut it off for a missed payment, what else can they control or track without your knowledge? This isn’t just one guy’s bad day. This is a preview of what “smart” cars can do to all of us. What do you think—fair consequence or dangerous overreach? 🤔

Confiar ciegamente en la física: si te lanzas hacia atrás a la misma velocidad a la que se mueve el vehículo, tu velocidad respecto al suelo pasa a ser cero.

Costa Rica is the first tropical country in the world to fully reverse deforestation. By 1987 its forest cover fell to 21%. However since then it has rebounded to over 50-60%. Today, more than half of Costa Rica is covered by forest, making it one of the first tropical nations to successfully reverse deforestation on a national scale and a global model for conservation. This historic turnaround was driven by a landmark 1996 law banning unauthorized logging and the creation of a pioneering program that pays landowners to preserve and replant native trees. By replacing destructive cattle ranching with a thriving ecotourism economy, Costa Rica proved that environmental conservation can be highly profitable. If Costa Rica can do this there is no reason why rich and developed nations can't follow in its tracks and reforest their territories. It's important to remember that the world doesn't have to end up as a barren dystopian hell realm, things can change for the better as they did in Costa Rica, it really is a matter of choice for every person and every country.

I can’t even. Why are we shredding and pulping books? Often rare ones? In the name of AI. Are you kidding me? If the alarm bells haven’t sounded yet, they should now. And this coming from me, someone who is tech-forward. Good grief!

🚨ICYMI: A study (in 2020) from the London School of Economics says 50 years of tax cuts in the U.S. which promised to “trickle down” and eventually boost jobs and income for everyone have only helped one group: The Rich. Read academic publication: cambridge.org/core/journals/…

A lot of the U.S radium companies (especially Radium Dial in Illinois) controlled and rushed the autopsies of the dying radium girls, sometimes even against the families wishes. In Peg Looney’s case, the company finished the autopsy before the family’s doctor even showed up. The family was already suspicious because the company doctors had brushed off the women’s symptoms for years and in some cases even blamed syphilis. So, her family wanted a second opinion…but by the time their doctor showed up, her body had already been opened and all the samples had already been taken, so another autopsy wasn’t really possible. A lot of the women had their bones fall apart while they were still alive too. Their legs and spines would just snap under their own body weight. Others ended up dying years later from the long term effects, only to find out they couldn’t sue because the statute of limitations had already run out. There’s also a later claim that one of the radium companies had even gone as far as removing “radium riddled bones” from a girls body just to help cover up the real cause of her death. ☢️

@GOP__Ls Seems cheap drones such as the Shahed caused them to waste expensive interceptors. But then Iran broke the supposedly unbreakable Iron Dome this way.
