America’s “Favor” That Powers Its Empire U.S. troops in Germany are not there out of charity—and certainly not to “protect” Germans. They are there because without German soil, American global reach doesn’t function. Ramstein is the largest U.S. air base outside America. Stuttgart hosts EUCOM and AFRICOM—the command centers for operations across Europe and Africa. Landstuhl has been the lifeline for wounded U.S. soldiers from Iraq to Afghanistan. Even drone operations in places like Somalia rely on infrastructure routed through Germany. Remove that, and you don’t weaken Berlin—you blind Washington. Yet somehow the narrative persists: America is doing Germany a favour. That Europe is the dependent, the beneficiary, the so-called “freeloader.” It’s a convenient story. It’s also strategically backwards. Because the reality is simple: those bases are not acts of generosity. They are instruments of power. And they exist in Germany not for Germany’s benefit—but for America’s ability to operate far beyond its own borders. Take them away, and the question isn’t what Germany loses. It’s how much the United States does.

Zelensky waited too long. Throughout 2025, the President of Ukraine tried to win Trump’s favor — and now he is no longer willing to wait. Ukraine is building a new axis: Turkey as a mediator, Europe as the main defense partner, and joint weapons production replacing hopes for U.S. military aid. A new European security architecture is being shaped without U.S. commitments at its core. Kyiv is no longer tying its future to Washington. Source: Politico P.S. In just over a year, that orange scarecrow has turned America into an unreliable and deceitful ally. Even the birds on the trees know that the U.S. will come out of Trump’s second term weaker and far less respected. Restoring international trust will be nearly impossible.

@fakt000mas @MykhailoRohoza Russia’s goal isn’t to capture territory as quickly as possible. Their main focus is to destroy the Ukraine army. Based on the body swaps that have occurred, Russia is accomplishing this task

Trump – No Tomahawk Cruise Missiles for Europe. Is Trump deliberately weakening Europe against a Russian attack? Trump's announcement to reduce the US military contingent in Germany by more than 5,000 troops and to completely rescind the deployment of a battalion with long-range weapons – including Tomahawk cruise missiles – personally promised by Biden, is not just a dangerous U-turn. It is a strategic error of historic proportions that undermines the entire European security architecture. FT. While Biden had explicitly positioned the presence of American long-range weapons in Germany as a response to the growing Russian threat, Trump is now signaling precisely the opposite: America is withdrawing, deterrence is being weakened, and NATO's eastern flank remains vulnerable. More than 5,000 fewer troops in Germany mean, specifically, less training capacity, less rapid response capability, and less credibility with Moscow. The Tomahawks, which Putin has so far had to take seriously, will remain in the US – or will not be deployed at all. This isn't "cost optimization," it's a gift to the Kremlin. You can twist and turn it however you like: This policy appears to be a deliberate attempt by Trump to weaken Europe as much as possible for Russia's next move. Whether driven by isolationist indifference, a misguided "America First" logic, or an undisguised sympathy for authoritarian leaders, the result is the same: Putin receives the clear message that the US is no longer prepared to defend its European allies with full force. Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, and Ukraine are paying the price for this American self-disempowerment. Europe is now being forced to finally assume responsibility itself—unfortunately, it's clear that most European states are neither financially nor politically capable of doing so.

It is sad to see European jets protecting the skies in the Middle East while the skies over Ukraine remain a slaughterhouse. This is a war on European soil that threatens the entire continent, yet the courage shown abroad is missing at home. Our priorities are completely broken

Ukraine is winning right now. We should arm them, give them the intelligence they need, and let them strike deep into Russia. Instead we're making them beg for it. Democrat or Republican, the next administration has to make the decision: we want Ukraine to win.⁩ @McCainInstitute

America should be taking leadership in Ukraine’s fight for its independence and democracy, but Trump has pulled out because he’d rather ingratiate himself to a dictator in Moscow.   Trump’s abandonment of Ukraine will go down in history as one of the worst foreign policy decisions of his presidency. wsj.com/world/europe/u…

Donald Trump is 100% wrong to reduce US troop levels in Germany. This can only be seen as a gift to Vladimir Putin. The United States government should stand for America’s national interests and with our allies.

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 PUSH HARDER "U.S. SEN. GALLEGO: Ukraine can win, Ukraine is winning right now, and our government should make decisions to make sure that happens. Let’s arm them, let’s give them intelligence they need, let’s give them capabilities to reach deep into Russia. It's in our national interest, our joint interests with NATO and Ukraine, to destroy military capability of Russia, and we have to make decision to do it. We want Ukraine to win. Ukraine destroying Russia is good for world stability, and we should make that investment to do it as fast as possible."- Ruben Gallego 🇺🇸 It’s not cautious language. He’s leaning all the way in, framing it as something already working that just needs to be scaled. The focus isn’t just support, it’s acceleration. More tools, deeper reach, faster decisions, like the hesitation itself is part of the problem. That kind of framing shifts the tone. Less about managing the conflict, more about shaping the outcome before it drifts somewhere harder to control.

PETRAEUS: For Russia to stop the war, we must get Putin to a point where he looks in the mirror and says, “We just can’t continue this war. Casualties are too great. We’re running out of money. Sanctions are biting,” and so forth. And the question is, how can we hasten that day.

Russians are panicking and withdrawing their money from banks – the system is on the verge of collapse. In January 2026, a record 1.1 trillion rubles were withdrawn from accounts. People are resorting to cash en masse, and with good reason. Against this backdrop, banks should be given the right to limit cash withdrawals to 50,000 rubles per day. Officially, this is, of course, for protection against fraudsters. In reality, it's about controlling access to one's own money. At the same time, the percentage of non-performing loans has crossed the critical threshold: 11% in the corporate sector and 13% for consumer loans, with the theoretical "red line" at 10%. Add to this rising military spending, a budget deficit of around 8 trillion rubles, and dwindling reserves – the pressure on the system is becoming systemic and affects everyone. Reports of deposit freezes no longer sound like fantasy. It's more a matter of time.

One of Russia’s stated goals of the SMO is to demilitarize Ukraine. Based on the number of bodies exchanged, I believe these western accounts of losses are hugely exaggerated and Russia is dominating on the field of battle. They’re not trying to quickly capture land. They are trying to completely eliminate Ukraine soldiers and once that is accomplished, the land won’t be a factor.

It would take centuries and millions of lives for russia to capture all of Ukraine. According to Forbes, in April, russian forces seized about 176 square miles of Ukrainian territory — while losing 4,800 pieces of equipment and over 36,600 soldiers killed or wounded. At this rate of advance, russia would fully occupy Ukraine only by 2256 — after losing 101 million people. That’s nearly two-thirds of russia’s population. It is important to note that Forbes published this article around this time last year. This year has been even a bigger disaster for russia. So, no, russia has no chance of winning this war.

A large majority of Americans support Ukraine. So, Trump's consistent record of helping Russia certainly isn't for political gain. The fact that he does this in spite of public opinion is one of the strongest indicators that the KGB compromised Trump. He's Putin's puppet.

.@POTUS: "Honoring the British King might seem an ironic beginning to our celebration of 250 years of American independence — but in fact, no tribute could be more appropriate. Long before Americans had a nation or Constitution, we first had a culture, a character, and a creed. Before we ever proclaimed our independence, Americans carried within us the rarest of gifts: moral courage, and it came from a small but mighty kingdom from across the sea."
