For clarification all parts of the U.K produce whisky with scotch as the dominant category

It would have been more beneficial if to 🏴both in terms of distilleries and profit if 🏴industry had not failed and had the opportunity to grow to where it is now or even bigger to become a dominant category

The English whisky industry closed completely by 1905 but was revived in 2006 and now has 61 distilleries
It as not right to say 🏴 distilleries closed due to 🏴 to support 🏴 distilleries & scotch profits when England’s industry completely closed in part due to 🏴 growth

What utter rubbish Malcolm and you know it. (1) Scotland does NOT have a deficit as it cannot legally (under UK/English constitution) have one. (2) Any deficit that would be asked of Scotland post independence would met with demands for share of UK/English assets. Check mate.
