I just don’t think there should be a leadership challenge. Keir Starmer has a massive mandate given to him by the British people at the general election. I don’t think anybody in the Cabinet has a right to try to overturn that. I still hope there won’t be a leadership contest. If there is, it’s probable that Keir will stand himself and in which case, I’d be in his camp. What we need now is continuity. We need Labour to deliver on their manifesto. Sir Keir Starmer has massively grown on me over the last 24 hours.

This stinks. Farage likes to pretend he's a 'man of the people’ … but he and Reform are not on your side.

Starmer is by far the best Prime Minister for the coming few years. He’s stood up to the orange man child, he standing up for Ukraine and he’s widely respected across the free world. He’s serious, unflappable and a tad dull as a serious politician should be.

These Labour MP’s have my utmost respect, which is more than I can say for the spineless opportunists who called for Starmer to go. I will not forget them.

I will always put the country first. We face serious challenges - threats from abroad, fragile international relations, a global oil price shock threatening our living standards, and weak public services after 14 years of decline. The government needs time to get on with the job

Lots of people tell me they are fed up with how long the government is taking to make them feel better off. I say that the #Change we promised is being delivered, across growth, health, opportunity, security and green energy. But it does take time.
