I just don’t think there should be a leadership challenge. Keir Starmer has a massive mandate given to him by the British people at the general election. I don’t think anybody in the Cabinet has a right to try to overturn that. I still hope there won’t be a leadership contest. If there is, it’s probable that Keir will stand himself and in which case, I’d be in his camp. What we need now is continuity. We need Labour to deliver on their manifesto. We haven’t even been two years into this government. telegraph.co.uk/gift/d0332ac86…

@DavidLammy Country needs a strong leader not being run by a rudderless Labour shamble that you cannot even call a modern government

The Unite the Kingdom march organisers are spreading hatred and division. They do not reflect the Britain I’m proud of. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right and one I will always protect. But if protest turns violent, we will act swiftly, with extra court capacity in place.

There is no leadership contest - I back the Prime Minister. If there is - I back the Prime Minister. Stability is the only way we put country first. 🇬🇧

Preet Kaur Gill, Your appointment to the Department of Health and Social Care is not a promotion. It is proof of the Labour Party’s total moral collapse. You are not a public servant. You are a political operative who has been rewarded for blindly backing a government that has failed the British people on every level. Your “dirt” is not hidden. It is written all over the policies you now defend. You have supported the cuts, the mismanagement, and the slow privatisation that have destroyed the NHS. You have stood by while waiting lists reached record highs and patients were left without care. You voted for the very failures that are now killing people. Your silence has been deafening. You have refused to hold your own party to account while the health service crumbles under your watch. You are not a reformer. You are a loyal foot soldier for a broken system, a faceless bureaucrat who has chosen career over country. You are not a leader. You are a liability. The British people are waking up. When the reckoning comes, people like you will be among the first to be held to account. Take your title, your salary, and your empty promises. We see exactly what you are.

Starmer is by far the best Prime Minister for the coming few years. He’s stood up to the orange man child, he standing up for Ukraine and he’s widely respected across the free world. He’s serious, unflappable and a tad dull as a serious politician should be.

How can there be a King’s speech today? We don’t have a functioning Government. How can Charles read out the plan for next year when Starmer hasn’t even got an agreed plan for next few days! Cancel State Opening

I will always put the country first. We face serious challenges - threats from abroad, fragile international relations, a global oil price shock threatening our living standards, and weak public services after 14 years of decline. The government needs time to get on with the job

Lots of people tell me they are fed up with how long the government is taking to make them feel better off. I say that the #Change we promised is being delivered, across growth, health, opportunity, security and green energy. But it does take time.

Been a Labour supporter, for all my adult life. Starmer is a decent, sensible PM, and he should have his parties support. Shame on every Labour MP saying otherwise Support Keir Starmer as PM - Sign the Petition! c.org/87NLnGcqHW via @UKChange
