There were multiple reasons 1. The nuclear family : Women in the traditional families derived purpose from managing the extended household. Additionally, the fellowship of domestic women provided bonding, leisure and comfort. The nuclear family atomized and alienated women.
omar ali@omarali50

@SpokesofaWheel Why did it take off though, that assault on womanhood and marriage? Capitalism? (not a rhetorical Q)

I am not opposed to rAmAyaNa dramatizations etc We have too little of it, not too much But we should do it in a manner that respects the canon. Every generation of actors in UK are judged by their Shakespeare performances. Even recent adaptations like "The Hollow Crown" are faithful to the Bard. We should attempt that with our epics. Use original dialogues from say tulasIdAsa or verbatim translations from vAlmIki

@shrutammegopaya @ScionofAtreyas Ravana's description of Sita when he comes dressed as a Brahmin would get banned . The gastronomy of Valmiki Ramayana would not be received well by many .

@ErikaMorris79 I'm not vouching for him personally, just saying that what he said seems fair. As for your question- could be the same reason. Red ball cricket is tougher , harder on the body, pays less money , so T20 seems better investment wise . But the former could be more satisfying

"Kerala-exceptionalists" are delusional. Malayāḷam wasn't even distinct from Western dialects of (Old) Tamiḻ until around the 9th–11th century and separate martial tradition (Kalarippayattu vs. Cilampam) didn't emerge until the 13th century. Anthropologically, Malayāḷis are barely even an independent ethnicity from Tamilians (they share a common ancient cultural base and only diverged into separate regional identities during the medieval period), let alone a completely separate civilization. Even the marumakkatāyam inheritence system that distinguishes them from Tamils is likely borrowed from the aḷiyasantāna system of the Tuḷuvas. The original inheritence system of the Ceras was makkatāyam. Tuḷuvas have a better argument for separate ethnicity and independent culture (Nāga ārādhane, bhūta kōla, pāḍḍanas, etc., etc.) from Malayāḷis and Kannaḍigas than Malayāḷis have for being distinct from Tamils. If your definition of civilization is so narrow as to define "Malayalam civilization" as a separate civilization from "Tamil civilization," then you should concede that "Bhojpuri civilization" is separate from "Maithili civilization."

@_DessertFoxx Malayalam civilization is different from Tamil civilization and Kannada civilization, and states were reorganized in 1956 to preserve the integrity of these linguistic civilizations.

Why the Ancient Brahmins of Kerala 'converted' to Christianity Manu Joseph It is dangerous to make people renounce Hinduism in today's India; how then in ancient times did a start-up religion survive, forget thrive? I believe that in ancient times a new religion could survive its infancy because it wasn't perceived as a faith as such, but as something mystical. Hinduism was so deeply ingrained in India that the adoption of Christianity, even if it came with a sprinkling of water, did not alter much. Certainly it did not alter the caste of the elite. This phenomenon might also explain why polytheism preceded monotheism in many regions of the world. The many gods of Hinduism point to an ancient polytheist society. Once upon a time, the conventional wisdom is, it was no big deal for people to have more than one faith. But this view misses an important clause. Once upon a time it was no big deal for people to have more than one faith, because the entrenched faith was the primary way to be. It is only when we look back from centuries away that it appears, in a retrospective illusion, there was a cluster of equal gods. But this is an incomplete theory without another mechanism of human behavior. It will not only explain why the ancient Brahmins appeared to convert to a new religion, but also why only a Brahmin conversion could have made the new religion triumph. @HMBrough_ I'm actually surprised that people are discussing strategy. In all my playthroughs my starter would have evolved and outleveled the gym leader significantly for strategy to ever be an issue. A high level Charmeleon could easily take on misty with the help of Butterfree/Pidgeotto

Actually, the failure of Gen Z/Alpha players to handle Misty on Charmander runs is proof that Americans are getting dumber and lazier. Misty never was an issue when we played the original Pokémon Red/Blue as children. There are so many solutions to this, eg: - Find an Oddish/Bellsprout north of the town - Spam Sand Attack and status moves to render the Starmie unusable (Misty cannot switch to counter this) - Brute force overleveling (the least satisfying choice) I guess there are disadvantages to using AI to cheat on all your assignments.

You know what? NO. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a 29 year old college graduate and still lost to Misty twice in Pokemon Firered. It could happen to anyone

@razibkhan It is Hindu military might that broke Islam's wave . Wherever Islam consolidated power for long durations, the masses became Muslim. In core India, Islamic kingdoms were repeatedly overthrown and/or had to compromise with Hindus to rule

MS Dhoni about 'Thala for a reason' trend 🎙: "I do know the trend, but I don’t know the reason behind it. I’m not sure whether it’s funny, meant to pull my leg, just banter, or a meme. But whatever it is, I think my fans have turned it into my favour and something positive for me. That’s what I feel." Started as a troll, but turned out to be the biggest trend on the internet. It is interesting that the cheetahs being repopulated in India are facing a problem due to being from the southern hemisphere. Just as they are developing their winter pelage, it starts raining in the desh and their coat does not dry. This seems to have caused a lot of the deaths. I wonder if they will reset with time -- studying the biological basis for this would be worth it.

Sorry to say this but Abhishek Sharma comes across as a basher of mediocre bowling on flat pitches. Pakistan started with off-spin and he got out for a duck to Salman Ali Agha. Netherlands copied Pakistan and he went for a duck to Aryan Dutt's off spin. Marco Jansen also took pace off and he had another failure against South Africa. Another poor shot against spin today with Akeal Hosein nabbing him. When every team has the same plan for you, maybe it's a weakness that you need to find solutions for. Approach it differently, rotate strike, take your time. "Natural game" is not an excuse for being unable to adapt. The hype for Abhishek Sharma going into the World Cup was crazy, but with just 80 runs in 6 games, he's having a nightmare run. Add to that, pretty mediocre ground fielding and dropped catches.
