@joshsimonsmp Why make it a class issue? Getting fed up of our politicians dividing us as a nation into different factions. We just want the best people leading our country.

For Westminster, this is a good summary of what people are saying on the doors in Makerfield. From a constituent of mine on a Reform page: "I'll probably get slated for this especially in this forum but hear me out. I've spent my whole adult life wishing that someone like me, from a working class background and from the North was leading our country. All I've seen in my lifetime is public school boys telling me how things are and to be honest, coming from a family of little to no wealth, it makes my blood boil. To have the chance of a prime minister who is born and bred in my neck of the woods. Understands the environment I grew up in if nothing else. And, more so, has a chance to take that top job and maybe, just maybe, make decisions that make a difference to people like me. That's what @AndyBurnhamGM represents for me. This feels like a one time in a generation chance to get someone in who isn't part of the establishment and may do things differently than has been done before. If people vote Reform, it won't put them in power. If they won it would merely be something to brag about but wouldn't make any fundamental difference to mine or your way of life. Alteratively, if Andy wins, it's likely he'll become our new prime minister and maybe, just maybe, we'll feel the difference. If not, vote Reform in the next general election and I'll join you. Peace out 📷"

Explain to me why you should be able to inherit a £3 million tenancy without paying inheritance tax but not a £3 million house your parents actually bought and paid for.
London Renters Union@LDNRentersUnion

Today, members in Tower Hamlets stopped a family being evicted from their home of 40 years! Housing association Gateway are refusing to pass the tenancy down after the family's parents passed away. Outrageous! We will resist forced displacement every time!

@RmSalih How do people register their disgust and objection to the Islamists? That’s free speech. Many people don’t want Islam in this country, they argue it isn’t compatible with western culture. They have a right to show these views.

Tomorrow over 100,000 racists and Islamophobes will descend upon the UK capital London to display their hatred of Islam and Muslims. This in a city where over one million Muslims reside and which is majority ethnic minority. Shame on the UK for allowing this brazen display of anti Muslim hatred to take place. Would they allow an explicitly anti Jewish march to take place? No they wouldn't. And before the morons in the comments start replying, the pro Palestine marches that have been happening for two years are NOT anti Jewish, they are anti Israel and anti Zionist. I want to see Muslims all over the world express their outrage over this march, including Muslim nations who should be registering their protest at the highest levels. And decent non Muslims should be raising their voices too. This mass display of Islamophobia and racism should be BANNED. It is a huge SHAME on this nation. Absolutely disgusted and appalled.

Really feels that if Burnham wins Makerfield there could be a Labour coronation. We’ll have never seen a by-election like it before. For all intents and purposes, a direct prime ministerial election, in a single constituency.

Questions for @AndyBurnhamGM 1. Will you remove the proscription of Palestine Action? 2. Will you end the abuse of counter-terrorism legislation against activists 3. Will you recognise that Israel has committed genocide? 4. Will you end all UK military engagement with Israel?

@PhilipProudfoot @AndyBurnhamGM Hilarious! Those questions have absolutely nothing to do with the crisis the UK faces. This is a parody account, or the writer is as thick as custard.

@Teamgrassroots_ There is no level at u10/11. It’s non competitive. Releasing a player at that age would result in a phone call from the local FA welfare officer to the chairman of the club reminding them of their responsibilities regarding FA affiliation. I’ve had to to exactly that years ago.

@Teamgrassroots_ This doesn’t make sense as u10/11 is non competitive. Contact your local FA welfare officer and ask for a chat. Have no doubt this is a welfare issue and you will be pleasantly surprised at the response you will get.

AFTER 5 YEARS AT HIS GRASSROOTS CLUB, LAST NIGHT MY 10 YR OLD WAS “RELEASED” My son joined his football team when he was five years old. Five. And now, at ten years old, he’s been told he’s no longer good enough “Released.” (🔗 👉 Link in COMMENTS)

@Teamgrassroots_ No goal because that’s the laws of the game, the goalkeeper had it in his hands. Much more importantly this is an u7/8 game and the laws come second to fair and enjoyable play. No sane adult is going to let that keeper not save that goal.

@andykn101 @Monkey_Esq @layxsnv You either being very clever or the irony is hanging high. No comma needed after superfluous! You are correct in that an Oxford comma is not correct in the example sentence. The answer is C.

@ScottyTee27 @Secretgrassroo2 No way Everton would let their u9 academy players play for a grass roots team. They must have been development squad players.

@Secretgrassroo2 One of my teams last summer played mid-level summer league U9s, we won the league so got put in the high-level cup at the end, made it to the final against the team that won the high-level league, when we got there they had 4 players turn up in their Everton training kits 🙈🤣

@PWenger53593 @Secretgrassroo2 From which team?!? I can’t believe even a Cat 3 academy would let their precious investments play summer tournaments with amateur coaches and no train physios present. This just doesn’t add up to me.

@Secretgrassroo2 Sorry academy players are not a different species with extra special powers. They aren’t older than the other kids - just better. I’ve pulled in academy kids for tournaments and it raises the level of the others. And gives them a taste of success. What’s the problem?

@Secretgrassroo2 Most academies would go nuts if they knew their players were playing football outside the academy (apart from school), these kids are worth big money to them.

@______terr @BenRamanauskas This is true but would need a huge change in how we structure our society, especially welfare payments. No politician is prepared to make that change or tell the truth. The result is the value of cash diminishes yearly. The poor suffer again.

@BenRamanauskas The bond market only dominates the government because it has to borrow so much money. This is not a necessary thing! If it stopped borrowing as much, it wouldn't be such a problem.
