SCOTUS has already ruled that police do not have a Constitutional duty to protect specific individuals. In cases such as DeShaney v. Winnebago County and Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, they determined that while law enforcement has a general duty to the public at large, the Constitution does not mandate protection for particular citizens against private violence. This is the exact reason why you should always be armed and you are your own first responder.
