@StoneLarry Got to remember a lot of guys were at the WBC this year. Guarantee that affected our record plus we are trying players at different positions and giving a lot of young guys longer looks. We'll be fine come opening day!

The Mariners finished Cactus League play with an 11-19 record. Their Cactus League record last year? 11-19. I never read a thing into spring training w-l. Today’s outcome was determined by Casey Hintz and Reese Lumpkin, highly unlikely to get anywhere near T-Mobile Park this yr

WSU’s season comes to an end with a 74-68 loss to Portland in the WCC Tournament second round. Ace Glass tallied 19 points for the Cougars, who shot only 38% from the field. Final record in David Riley’s second season: 12-20, 7-12 WCC

WSU coach David Riley on radio: "It's sickening to keep saying it, but we're getting closer and closer. I didn't think we'd get any closer than the last couple times we've been on the road. But this is a game that we gotta learn from. We gotta learn how to learn how to not make these errors. We gotta learn how to stick with with the gameplan defensively. We gotta learn how to stick with each other offensively in the second half, and we gotta go win on the road. We go do that, we've shown we can play with anyone in the tournament. This is a chance for us to make this next step."

@zlack57 @SalsaTech1 @JeffPassan You’re misunderstanding it. An 86 wRC+ for a catcher is league average. That was Mitch Garvers last season. Also take in the fact he’s a backup so he will see significantly less AB’s and he’s worked with nearly all of these pitchers before. It’s a low risk medium reward deal.

Catcher Mitch Garver and the Seattle Mariners are in agreement on a minor league deal, sources tell ESPN. Garver, 35, spent the last two seasons with the Mariners and will compete for the backup catcher job to AL MVP runner-up Cal Raleigh.

@SportGeek44 @TridentTrue @JeffPassan Not much less. 16 months and 2 months of rehab? Okay. Still 18 months. And the less is the internal brace procedure, not actual TJ Surgery which is what he had. Name 1 less than 18 months??

Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Evans underwent Tommy John surgery last week and will miss the 2026 season. As a rookie last year, Evans made 15 starts and threw 81.1 innings. While he was a depth starter in the Mariners' excellent rotation, it's nonetheless a painful loss.

@cvmd613 @jwr020819 The only counter argument I have is he’s 23 and has solid bat speed. A tweak in his approach and swing would help him a lot. But, I wouldn’t expect the white sox to fix him

@jwr020819 Who wrote this?? Hope Acuña does well but he’s shown his realistic MLB role is a utility bench player, especially for late game defense and pinch running speed. It’s an appropriate cost for a 1 yr flier w strong defense at a floor

When I say baseball media is in hell: Acuña hasn’t had prospect status in a while, had a 92 OPS+ in AAA last year after a 66 OPS+ in 2024, and has a career 83 OPS+ in the bigs. It’s like an NFL writer looked at Pipeline in 2023 and hasn’t checked in on him since
