@RangersDaft52 @DaveKingsWine Totally agree, but I guess it’s like the old Cup Winners Cup, they were viewed quite highly back in the day too.

If Dunfermline win the Scottish Cup, do we enter the Conference League in the second qualifying round? Also does this mean we need Celtic to win the cup to enter the Europa League?

@Ricky9Forbes Yes, I accept that. Just an odd position to galvanise before we’ve filled all the others

@DaveKingsWine No worries, bit of a pain in the arse, but we need to win at least the QR3 round to guarantee group phase football of some sort assuming it’s the Europa.

@a_cooper17 @ask1087 @DWillis1997 @henrywinter That is absolutely mental. He has a SPLIT SECOND between it hitting his thigh to touching his arm. If you think that’s deliberate then FML. 😂😂😂

You misunderstand me. He USED his arm to control the ball into his turn/path. You can’t accidentally consciously use a body part. Of course you can accidentally control a ball with your arm if it just hits it and drops at your feet, for example. But in this case he leveraged his arm’s position to hold the ball up so he could turn and take a shot. He didn’t do all that by accident. And that’s probably why he didn’t celebrate because he knew.

How on earth is that accidental!! It’s handball by Mbeumo. VAR was trying to bring some justice to the initial decision, invites ref to think again, to check the monitor. Ref sticks with his earlier aberration. Bizarre. Nottingham Forest rightly furious. #MUNNFO

Should Manchester United's second goal against Nottingham Forest have been given? Here's what our panel made of it.

@Flashscorecom Does the ball deflect off the Forest player? Yes. Does the ball then deflect off the Man United players thigh and then onto his underarm? Yes. Is it a deliberate movement? No. Is his arm in an unnatural position? No. All of that for me suggests goal, not handball.

@jamiebennett_r @alanshearer In a blink of an eye like that? Don’t talk mince lol! He has absolutely no time to react in a deliberate motion when the ball deflects off his thigh.

@Arbygh @alanshearer That doesn’t matter. His arm isn’t in an unnatural position, the ball deflects up from his thigh and it’s clearly not deliberate. Accidental handball in that scenario can still result in a goal. The only definite way that gets ruled out is if he’s the goalscorer.

@SpoutHandle @alanshearer If he didn't control it with his arm, the ball would NOT have gone to the goal scorer. It's a handball. Anywhere on the pitch that happened, it would've been a handball.

@jamiebennett_r @alanshearer It’s not a deliberate action, the ball bounces up off his thigh first. He has no reaction time whatsoever.

@henrywinter The rules state it's a goal Henry. Go and read the rules. It deflected off his body into his arm, he was in a natural position, and he wasn't the goalscorer.

@DWillis1997 @henrywinter But he gained an unfair advantage with it. Surely that’s in the rules too? It literally helps him control the ball so he can make the pass. Crazy decision whichever team you support.

Terrible decision in the Man Utd v Forest game. The Forest fans started singing ‘are you Celtic in disguise?’ They are now the byword for cheating.

@inthezoneuk @SpoutHandle @alanshearer According to IFAB Law 12, it is not a handball offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm after already touching another part of their own body (e.g. thigh here). The arm also wasn’t in an unnatural position per the description. Goal stands.
