@planefag But... We *didn't* exterminate 100% of the population with saturation nukings. We still have a lot of rungs on that ladder!

There are people on this website who sincerely believe we didn't leap to the very top of the escalation ladder when we wiped out Iran's entire senior leadership including Dear Leader with a surprise attack at H-Hour. Lol. Lmao, even.
Saad.@SaadInCyber

@planefag Now you wanna go round 2 attacking Iran's energy infrastructure anyway despite knowing the consequences of doing so last time, you will get exactly what was delivered in round 1.

I want to draw something, but I hate drawing with only pen. I did draw a cool Yamato on the desk with dry erase a few weeks back. Too bad I didn't get a picture of it.

@kendrictonn No idea honestly. Whenever I try to use some of those fancy tools, I end up feeling like it's more work and doesn't turn out as well, so I never really bother to learn it all the way through. Good on those who can figure it out, I guess, but it ain't me.

I pay effectively zero attention to digital tools, so the curve-cleaning--or whatever you want to call it--in this is kind of wild to me. Is that how it works?

@GearGades @juan_barriosal @HiddenHistoryYT My understanding is that while Yamato detonated at the surface, Musashi detonated shortly after sinking. Combined with taking more torpedo and bomb hits across both sides of her hull, a compressed explosion like that would leave very little intact in comparison to Yamato.

Yamato on the seabed in three shattered sections Yamato lies in the East China Sea about 110 miles southwest of Kyushu at a depth of roughly 1,150 to 1,410 feet. A major modern survey carried out in May 2016 by Kure City using the ROV Hakuyo mapped the wreck site in detail. The survey covered an area about 1,476 feet east to west and 1,312 feet north to south, producing around 50 hours of video and roughly 7,000 photographs. Earlier work described the wreck as two large sections, but the Kure Museum team concluded the remains are better understood as three main parts. These include the bow section, a central debris and machinery field, and the stern section. The bow rests in about 1,150 feet of water facing west and leaning about 50 degrees to starboard. The imperial chrysanthemum crest was clearly identified on the bow. Comparison with earlier surveys showed the bow had deteriorated further since 1999, with plating peeled upward and the tip bent about 16 feet. All three 18.1 inch main turrets were found separated from the hull and upside down with their gun barrels buried in the seabed. The No. 2 turret was badly destroyed, split at the handling room with its upper section about 558 feet away from the lower part. Across the wider debris field the survey also recorded catapults, secondary turrets, radar antenna parts, boiler related equipment, armor plate, a large propeller, high angle gun shields, 25 mm gun mount shields, bridge structure fragments, and many other pieces scattered across the seabed. Yamato was sunk on April 7, 1945 during Operation Ten Go after repeated air attacks by United States carrier aircraft. The battleship suffered multiple torpedo and bomb hits before rolling over and exploding in a massive internal detonation. More than 3,000 of her crew were killed in the sinking. Interest in the wreck began decades later, with search attempts in 1978 and 1982, a confirmed identification in 1984, the Pisces II discovery dive in 1985, another survey in 1999, and the detailed Kure City expedition in 2016. The wreck has never been raised and no large scale recovery has taken place. Today she remains on the seabed as a heavily fragmented war grave slowly deteriorating over time, with the bow section showing noticeable collapse since earlier surveys and debris spread widely across the surrounding seabed.

Forgot the third "whore" can be a general cuss word, kinda like "shit" in English, so it's pasta with all kinds of shit thrown in

Oh yes The two etymologies I've heard 1. Whores would sleep in after a long night of whoring, so they'd get to the market late in the morning and be stuck with whatever odds and ends were available 2. it's something you can throw together real quick in between customers
Adriana Porter Felt@__apf__

at lunch I had pasta puttanesca and I thought, surely that doesn't mean "whore pasta." it must be a funny Italian/Spanish cognate. but actually it turns out it really does mean whore pasta

My feet have been all fucked up recently and somehow I managed to shave 35 seconds off my run time for a 12:10 1.5 mile. With the progress I’ve made, I might actually be able to get an Outstanding here soon enough.

@Real_JSN @Krekkov VR died shortly after getting off the ground because few developers tried to make actual games with it and instead just tried to make cash grab proof of concept games over and over again. The best VR games tend to be games with VR support rather than VR only. Flight sims etc.

"VR market is almost dead" im not even sure if bro is trolling or for real. VR is still fairly expensive for the average gamer, and the amount of good games is far from impressive. The only title I was interested in was HL: Alyx, but the last thing I'm gonna do is buy a VR setup just to play one game.

Brave young Americans are once again going into harm’s way. If you’ve served in the military in the past 25 years, you signed up knowing that a combat deployment was likely. Godspeed and good hunting to our forces. I hope they wipe out that decrepit, fanatical, terrorist regime and give the Iranian people a chance to take their country back.
Axios@axios

NEW: The U.S. and Israel began "major combat operations" in Iran overnight with the aim of destroying the country's military capabilities and fostering regime change, President Trump announced. axios.com/2026/02/28/ira…
