@SCHIZO_FREQ truly poor and downtrodden people are not just like 'us' with no money. they are often extremely low executive function, extreme high time preference, adhd timeblind, overmedicated/drug addicts. the woke are right about this for the wrong reasons

“Poor people just don’t have time to cook” is one of the most tilting arguments ever Just buy a crockpot and toss completely random stuff into it You don’t even need recipes, it will still taste better than whatever you DoorDash
Taylor Lorenz@TaylorLorenz

This is bc they do not have the time or capacity to create home cooked meals. It’s an issue countless ppl have tried to raise w leftists but big leftists online continue to shame/abuse poor ppl for being forced to rely on these services for meals, which act as a tax on the poor

Hay personas a las que los bebés siguen con la mirada sin parar. En el tren. En la tienda. Niños desconocidos que no miran a sus padres. Te miran a ti. Y hay una razón muy concreta para eso...

You have boomers telling you to eat a baloney sandwich and drink tap water on one side and libtards telling you that DoorDash is a human right for people too retarded to use a crockpot on the other 😩

“No, you don’t understand, boomers are actually really frugal, they never eat out and always pack a lunch, they definitely never do anything stupid with their disposable income, also their houses are full of consumer products that they’ve hoarded over the years for some reason.”

@ChristianHeiens assets are the crux of the issue. a lot of boomers really did live very frugal lives because frugality was a viable path to asset ownership. younger generations dont live very frugally because frugal living is not nearly as viable a path to asset ownership today

The generational disconnect between asset prices and reality that exists between Boomers and Zoomers is insane. Case in point: A few months ago, the cheapest house for sale in my home town was a formerly abandoned cape cod home that was the site of a brutal unsolved murder 20 years ago. Someone had bought the husk, flipped it, and sold the thing for $320,000. That was your entry level home where I live, a literal haunted house. Americans over the age of 50 have no idea what “asset price inflation” does to younger generations. My parents constantly talk about their $150,000 home and their 2% mortgage when we discuss finances, and it just blows my mind that such a thing was ever even possible.

@ReubenR80027912 if you dont drive or you live somewhere 'walkable' grocery shopping without a car can be really sketchy. when i lived in houston there was so much armed robbery over grocery theft. if u live somewhere like that you travel light and move fast, hard to bulk shop.

1. Delivery is bad b/c it’s lukewarm. ONLY reheatable Asian/Pizza makes sense 2. Old ppl like cooking b/c they are bored & lonely: baking for 3hrs fills the existential void 3. If Zoomers live eating OUT, then it’s mostly lower cost dining they’re keeping aloft 4. Demographics
Jeremiah Johnson 🌐@JeremiahDJohns

The biggest thing happening behind the scenes in the "expensive lunch" discourse is that Zoomers are eating out at ridiculously high rates. It's a silent assumption for a ton of young people that restaurants are a basic necessity, not an occasional treat.

More vote comes in; worse Massie does. Gallrein now up nearly 13%. I’ve seen enough. Thomas Massie lost his primary and probably by double digits

Huge loss for the moderate wing of the GOP. Incumbent Delegate and Finance Chair Vernon Criss has lost his primary in a landslide. Like Zatezalo, he too voted in favor of protecting DEI at the university level.

@st_louis_stan in my experience its definitely paternal. i got passed for a promotion by this (admittedly beautiful and bubbly) girl who every senior leader basically acted as a highschool guidance counsellor for their own daughter from the day she was hired.

Saying that high-status men dote on junior women in the workplace because they want to fuck them is simplistic and mostly wrong. There are a few reasons for the phenomenon of women being preferred in modern white-collar environments by older men and they are - Natural protectiveness towards women. The types of men in these roles are atypical men, meaning they're smart, pro-social, college-educated, etc. These kinds of men are more inclined to look out for women, even if that means doing work for them, making their upward path a little easier, helping them skip a few rungs in the ladder. Think paternal more than sexual - Many of these guys buy into the story that women have been unduly oppressed, and their pro-social inclinations will urge them to redress this by giving women special treatment. A lot of these men have a (perhaps misplaced) sense of justice and fairness and many of them really believe they're doing the right thing by preferring women at the expense of men - In the eyes of these men, young men need to "earn their place" in society, so helping them out, guiding them, presenting them with opportunities is oftentimes considered coddling them, interfering with the natural process of men having to cut their teeth and prove themselves. In their eyes, any man who is worth a damn will "figure it out" regardless of what help he may or may not get - Young women are extremely agreeable. Imagine you're a 55-yo man. A pretty 25-yo woman gets hired at your office, she's eager to please has a go-getter attitude. Add in the "women are wonderful" effect. Now look at the 25-yo man they hired at the same time, he's just Some Guy, maybe a little ugly a little disagreeable, and presents male energy that you'll have to deal with (though he may be the more competent of the two!). The woman is the path of least resistance, even if choosing her means abdicating your traditional social responsibility of guiding and shaping the next generation of young men Take all of this, and scale it, and you can begin to understand why we're having the problems we're having

I will be in Martinsburg, WV, tomorrow to cover the primaries taking place there, where nearly 60 GOP-held seats are being contested. The Right flank of the West Virginia Republican Party are aiming for essentially a kill shot all in one election cycle.
