On duty today at Cork v Clare and Tipperary v Waterford in All Ireland Senior Camogie Championship semi-finals at Pairc ui Chaoimh.

A public First Aid Response (FAR) course will be held on Sat 31/10, Sat 07/11 & Sat 21/11 from 9am-5pm each day in St John Ambulance in Glanmire.. All COVID-19 precautions will be taken including sanitisation protocols & personalised training equipment. Book via 086 0699086.

We have three vehicles, with EMT & paramedic cover, volunteering today at @ballindenisk cross country eventing. Great day for it!

Blue skies and sunshine ... the perfect combination for providing event cover with colleagues from @StJohnGlanmire at the Irish Pony Club Mounted Games held at the Cork Showgrounds, Curraheen today.

On duty yesterday for @StJohnGlanmire along with colleagues from St John Ambulance Cork, providing event cover for the East Cork Motorcycle Club’s Grass-track Practice in Mogeely.

A blended learning First Aid Response (FAR) course will be held on Sat 12th & Sat 19th Sept (online), & Sat 26th Sept (in person at Glanmire) from 9am to 5pm each day. All COVID-19 precautions will be taken including sanitisation protocols & personalised training equipment!

This evening we returned to in-person training, under the guidance of our infection control team, to practice critical skills including donning & doffing of PPE. Huge thanks to volunteer & RGN Ashling Doyle who led this session - her experience as an ED Nurse is invaluable!

We were lucky to have Dr @Chris_Mckeon90 deliver a lecture to our volunteers tonight on his experiences last year with @LDNairamb HEMS - fascinating lecture, we’re lucky to have a strong pre-hospital network in Cork with great educators. Thanks Chris!

We were delighted to welcome a guest trainer this week - Lucia Fikar, a qualified psychotherapist & volunteer with @SJA_CoD gave a fantastic overview on Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) & treatment of anxiety to volunteers in Glanmire via Microsoft Teams. Thanks Lucia!

We're continuing to explore online solutions to allow our volunteers to keep their skills up to date whilst remaining at home - tonight, we are refreshing on #Sepsis with video and other resources shared on Microsoft Teams - we adapt! @stjohnie #StJohnAmbulance #HoldFirm

Virtual weekly training continues this evening w/ an interactive session on Burns, led by Caroline O'Connor. Caroline has volunteered with St John Ambulance Glanmire for 5 years, is an EMT, an RGN & a lecturer in the School of Nursing & Midwifery at UCC - we're lucky to have you!

Tonight, we continued our weekly virtual training with a session on Covid-19 Contact Tracing - lots of engagement from all!

As we adjust to new ways of working, we were delighted to get back to regular Tuesday training sessions this evening - with a virtual meeting on Microsoft Teams! We covered Basic Virology, PPE donning & doffing, ambulance cleaning protocols &transport of Covid+ patients.@stjohnie

Tonight, our volunteers are learning about self-care in our roles as volunteers in the emergency services with MJ Harney, thanks to MJ for training us this evening! @stjohnie

MJ & Alan are volunteering today with Risteard from Cork City at the Intervarsity Cross Country competition at The Farm, Currheen.
