Research shows that infant baptism was a development of doctrine. To claim that infant baptism is biblical, you must ignore tons of scholarly research that says otherwise. This is what convicts me to remain Baptist.

@PatrologyVotary I would say the same of Calvin and the reformation but honestly the variance in the reformers makes the Fathers look like they are in lockstep

Anyone who spends time reading the Church Fathers and is honest with what he sees will concur with Calvin: “those holy men were ignorant of many things, are often opposed to each other, and are sometimes at variance with themselves.”

The Prime Minister is right. Albertans did not vote for separatism in the last provincial election. It was not on the ballot, it was not central to the government’s platform, and it was not presented as a mandate to destabilize the future of Confederation. At a time of global economic uncertainty, Alberta should be focused on strengthening investment, expanding market access, building infrastructure, creating jobs, and helping lead a strong Canadian economy, not fuelling political chaos that undermines confidence in our future. Alberta’s strength has always come from helping build Canada, not retreating from it. We are strongest when Alberta is at the centre of a united, ambitious, and economically confident Canada.
Courtney Theriault@cspotweet

"Did (Albertans) vote for this last provincial election? No, they didn't, it wasn't on the ballot paper, it wasn't in the mandates or platforms of the governing party..." PM Mark Carney says a separatist question on a question isn't helpful to the economy, that it wasn't part of the UCP's election platform- joking that Premier Smith doesn't always take his advice.

Science fiction nerds are gonna hate me for saying this but the Great Filter is that interstellar travel is probably more or less impossible and there is no reason to come up with any other explanation for that.

My top Canadian place name changes: 1. Only Kamloops or Kelowna can start with a K. Fight with guns to determine who. 2. It's "St." Not "Ste." or "Saint." 3. Fort Saskatchewan renamed Fort Alberta. 4. Saint John, NB renamed to "Brunswick City." 5. Only one city gets to have "Vancouver" in the name. The others will be named after Beachcombers characters.

There's no plot hole. Just a mystery. Sifo-Dyas commissioned a clone army on his own or under influence from the Sith, happened to die & the Sith took advantage or they killed him & took over the operation; or after he died Dooku posed as him to commission the army to begin with.
G.S. Quay@hemingquay

@mightydudbolt He also does have a tendency to leave huge plot holes. I still have no idea what was going on with the whole “Sifo Dyas” thing in Attack of the Clones, and I’m pretty well versed in the lore.

@kestinen @actsmaniac People can dislike continuing high levels of immigration without hating the immigrants themselves. Immigrants can be good people and by no fault of their own make society weaker and cause problems for the people already in an area

A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not have spent two years trying to burn down Canada. A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not have made a deal with separatists to give them everything they wanted. A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not ride the fence and only say she stood for Canada when it became politically convenient. Danielle Smith is not an innocent bystander. She cannot blame 700,000 Albertans for this. She has been driving the separatist bus the entire time.
Danielle Smith@ABDanielleSmith

I am fiercely loyal to Alberta and Canada and will be voting for our province to remain in confederation Kicking the can down the road only prolongs an emotional and important debate, and muzzling the voices of hundreds of thousands of Albertans who want to be heard is unjustifiable in a free and democratic society. It’s time to have a vote, understand the will of Albertans, and move on. Read my full op-ed here: calgaryherald.com/opinion/column…

When I was a kid I thought it was pretty obvious "Sifo Dyas" was an alias for Palpatine or Dooku, and that they were also the ones who erased the records from the archive. I was so pissed when both EUs made him a real guy.
