The efficacy of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines is probably ~92% , very close to 2 doses (~95%).
Huge ramifications: we should ramp up single dose for these vaccines as quickly as possible. Postpone the 2nd dose.
This doubles the # of ppl protected & ~halves the time to herd immun.

@Michi_L_98 @geoffheyman This is worse. 90%+ of the country is in red and it seems that sports like football and soccer will be played only when we’re at 1 case per 100K per day. These numbers are not an average of 7 days but a total of 7 days per 100K.

The rule of thumb I have heard from older/experienced VCs is that the winner in every SW market makes all of the money, the #2 gets you a 2-3x, and everybody else loses money. While this may have been true in the past, it clearly no longer holds...even in new categories 1/

I agree with Europe: Wearing medical-grade masks will be important to slow the spread of the B.1.1.7 strain. We have consistent evidence that single-layer cloth masks are not as effective as surgical masks, and N95 or KN95 masks are even better. washingtonpost.com/world/europe/e…
