It was a wild one, but the Hawks just stole Game 2 and home-court advantage in the series. Atlanta trailed by as many as 14 in the 2nd half and by 12 after 3 quarters. 32 points for CJ McCollum, who is suddenly quite popular in New York. Breakdown to come on @LockedOnHawks.

Kudos to Alex Anthopoulos for the calculated gamble he when he DFA'd Martin Perez last weekened. The move allowed him to fill the roster spot w/ a couple AAA arms that helped a taxed bullpen for a few days. Anthopoulos hoped the $3.5M price would deter teams from claiming Perez and it did. In the end, Perez went away for a few days and returned to his same exact rotation spot. Oh yeah, so far he's thrown five scoreless agaisnt the Phillies tonight

The Hawks are about to clinch the Southeast Division title and a top-six playoff spot with a win over the Cavs.
Atlanta will soon make its first playoff appearance since 2022-23 and will make the playoffs without needing the play-in for the first time since the 2020-21 season.

Think the reality about Kansas is that they're basically what we thought they were coming into the season. They're a solid, top-20ish team in the country that isn't wildly talented outside of DP/Bidunga compared to the other teams at the top of the Big 12 that are deeper.

Literally the whole reason they didn't get blown off of the court in Arizona until late after the Wildcats threatened to do so early was that Peterson had 14 in that seven-minute stretch at the end of the 1st/early 2nd halves. They lose by 40+ without him lol.

I think we're at the point where we can say Kansas has been better this season without Darryn Peterson than with him. He had 24 points on 21 shots today and they lost by 23. I still think this team has a high ceiling but I'm losing my faith it will reach it.
