The Himalayas are sacred mountains. Their name in Sanskrit means 'abode of snow' — but 'two-thirds of glacier ice in the Himalayas will be lost by 2100 if climate targets aren’t met' #geographyathome #glaciers orlo.uk/plDXT

When #Covid19 lockdown restrictions are relaxed it is important that older hill walkers take it easy and regain their cardiac fitness before heading back to the fells and mountains. Please share and retweet for awareness ❤️⛰
Paul Barratt@drpaulbarratt

In 2001 after the foot & mouth closures there was a spike in @MountainResqUK reported deaths. This was likely due to older walkers keenly returning to the fells and mountains without their usual cardiac fitness. Please share and RT for awareness @Team_BMC @MtnTraining @BMC_Walk
