@An_Angel_of_God @candyassets @komradekhris Yes the sound is encoded in strip on the left of the image, but what you see is not the sound for that frame - the sound is ‘read’ further down in the projector, so the sound would cut out a second or so after the picture.

Chilling in the projection booth and stumbled upon a reminder of a living nightmare: the 8 frames we had to cut out of OBAA because of a projector malfunction

@lucyhargreaves4 And this is why Utah has licensed an AI program to prescribe medications- still with a human buy off in the chain I believe, but capable of assessing and authorizing the vast majority of repeat prescriptions.

process for process sake is insanity. a case in point of how this plays out in Ontario's health system: > today, I needed to renew a medication for my son 2 days before the renewal date because we're going out of town > can't make a request for an early refill online, so i call the pharmacy and ask. i wait 12 minutes on hold before my call is picked up. > the pharmacist tells me no, they can't do that. they must FAX the prescribing doctor and ask permission. yes, you read that right... a fax must be sent. for releasing a Rx 2 days early. in 2026. > I say this is silly. ask for other options. they say no. but then they also tell me that if they don't hear from the doctor by the end of the day, they will release it early anyway.... i point out that makes no sense but am told to follow the process > they also tell me that, in addition to them sending a fax, I must call the doctor to give them a heads up it's coming. > I call the doctor's office. wait 8 minutes on hold. inform them the fax is coming. am told the doctor won't be in until 230pm and that I should call back around 3pm to "confirm they got the message"... > so at this point ... I'm spending time reminding a doctor's office to remind a doctor to approve a fax that is required, but not actually required, to refill a prescription 2 days early. people have probably spent at least 2 hours collectively on this problem today 🤯 no wonder we have a productivity crisis in this country

@PeteUK7 @jessbowds78 @MMikejb I’m sorry for your loss. Maybe they could be kind enough to loan you the crystal ball that you were supposed to have used to have known how long your mum was going to be in hospital when she was admitted. I feel angry for you.

@jessbowds78 @MMikejb Not allowed attendance allowance. We informed them many weeks ago and told them of the circumstances so they stopped her payments; then followed up with this.

Mum died on Monday. Today she received a £50 civil penalty for not letting DWP know soon enough she was in hospital & had been overpaid £73.90 in allowances. The traumatic experience of hospitalisation & loss of mental capacity was deemed 'not a reasonable excuse'. F this world.

@By_CJewett @profvrr is the data available for the public/research community to review to see whether the mRNA based vaccine is as effective as existing treatments? And are other factors such as speed of manufacture (so ensuring matching prevalent strain) considered?

NEW: The F.D.A. refused to accept an application from Moderna for its mRNA flu vaccine. Its reason: The agency did not think Moderna compared the new vaccine to one of the best flu shots available. The company spent $750M+ on a 41,000 person study. nytimes.com/2026/02/10/hea…

@YuriDikulous @BarryRoland19 I understand the frustration, but I’ve also done observation in an Emergency Room and it’s amazing how subtle changes in taking a history can elicit starkly different responses.

@BarryRoland19 There are a LOT of people that will tell the nurse one thing and then tell the doctor another. It happens so often, it's basically lead to this repeat of questions bif your answers didn't match, they'd have to get to the bottom of it. Or the doctor just doesn't read charts.

Medical assistant: “so what brings you in?” Patient: “my sinuses have just been really congested, and I’ve had a fever for a few days” MA: “taking any medication?” P: “Advil. Oh and I use a saline spray.” MA: “any coughing too, or?” P: “a little, maybe at night…” MA: “ok I’ll make a note of that. The doctor will be with you in just a moment.” Doctor: “Jimmy? Hi. So what brings you in today?” Patient: “uhh, my sinuses have just been really congested. And I’ve had a fever for a few days..” D: “ya, it’s the season. taking any medication?” P: “…Advil and a saline spray.” D: “good, good. Um, have you been coughing too, or?” P: “you tell me. what do your notes say, doc?”

@DrSampler @smmarotta @OrinKerr I don’t know how relevant this is in Montana, but in English law you can be charged with assault for ‘creating fear’ in someone - you don’t have to physically touch.

@smmarotta @OrinKerr Can you explain why he was charged w assaulting an officer? Reading the decision says only that he had a black object in his hand that looked like a gun (but wasn’t). Is holding an object that looks like a gun in the presence of an officer “assault”? Surely there is more, no?

@thatPOSERSguy @itswayneyo @PinballReed @JesusChryslerII Which was the whole point - someone posted a photo of their boarding pass which included their confirmation code and name - by using those 2 elements you can cancel a booking - people just don’t realize how closely guarded that info should be. Legacy of travel agent era….

@Vinod_r108 @doschumblings So either the patient wanted to know exactly what the therapist was writing in their notes during sessions (just paranoia), or they had timed appointment to be close enough to one by another patient that they could record/transmit what was being said (nefarious purpose).

Perplexity just quietly dropped a 42-page internal guide on how they actually use AI at work. What I found most useful: → How they automate the small stuff. Email, meeting prep, research (all done by AI) → Using AI to amplify your curiosity, not replace it. → Their prompting playbook is simple, practical, and genuinely good. Comment “AI” and I’ll send it to you for free.

A wide 100 kHz signal spanning from 11800 kHz to 11900 kHz was detected today in Central New York. It appears to be an Over the Horizon Radar transmission but could this be linked to #3IATLAS or is something more mysterious unfolding?

@thomasforth I’m no geographer/economist, but is this just showing that smaller cities with high value technology/intellectual property businesses clustered around leading world universities out perform their larger hollowed out industrial neighbours?

In most of the world, bigger cities have stronger economies. It happens in France, the USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, and on, and on. But not in Britain. In Britain, the bigger a city gets the weaker its economy is, except for London. This costs us dearly.

Great question! This resource is for clinicians. Our patient resources are coming out VERY soon. Please follow us for updates. x.com/JMSparrow/stat…

@ravenscimaven This is amazing! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Is it written in a way patients can easily understand it to discuss or share with their care team? I’m blessed my doctor was able to dx & treat my long COVID fairly quickly but that seems rare. Thank you for committing to this work. 🙏🏽
