@w_terrence That fact I knew in Jr. High School. After 1901 the last of the 23 Republican house and senate was voted out and with the interference of the KKK and black codes law it 30 years was over because another was elected. The Civil Rights movement caused the racist South changed.

This is the history the left never celebrates or talks about. They always bring up slavery, but you’ll never hear them bring this up: The first 23 Black Americans elected to the U.S. Congress were members of the Republican Party. Makes you wonder why this part of the story gets so little attention even during black history month.
