Oil supply crisis… if only we had our own oil refinery in Scotland…

The Faroe Islands have a population of under 60,000, yet have far more autonomy than Scotland, which is 50 times bigger and 100 times more populous. Hannah Mary Goodlad, the SNP Holyrood candidate, picks up on that, describing an energy rich, but more importantly, an energy-owning community, where wind farms are built in small dispersed groups and the grid and turbines run by and for the people. They know nothing about fuel poverty. The Faroese are not, like the Scots a sovereign people. They come under the sovereignty of the state of Denmark. You might think they'd have a "pocket-money" economy, like Scotland; but no. Their autonomy extends to control of their entire economy, and with it all of their resoures; fishing, renewables and agriculture. So the Faroese can say "Energy is Ours", while Scotland, a sovereign territorial nation tightly controlled by another country can only honestly say "Energy is Theirs". They can only say this the way every colonized nation on the planet has been obliged to powerlessly accept the exploitation of its own resources. Enough of this. India has told Scotland we are England's last colony. What more do we need to hear? Who else do we need to hear it from? Whatever party you support, help Salvo and Liberation Scotland declare our sovereignty to the world and shrug off the scourge - that is to say, the lashing to the bone - of colonialism.
