Twenty-six of the 32 DI conference commissioners sent a letter to Sens. Maria Cantwell and Ted Cruz supporting their potential Senate bill to regulate college sports. A reminder: the senators remain in negotiations and an agreement hasn’t been reached.

A memo sent today to members of the presidential committees on college sports, and obtained by @YahooSports, indicates that a bill between Sens. Ted Cruz and Maria Cantwell - a landmark, bi-partisan piece of legislation - is expected to be introduced as soon as next week.

The Rays just unveiled the key points of the MOU for a proposed new 31,000-seat ballpark and mixed-use development in Tampa tied to a revitalized @HCCFL campus. The $2.3B project would be funded with roughly 55% private investment from the Rays ($1.27B + cost overruns), the largest by a sports team in Florida history. Goal: open by 2029. "The parties will continue to work through unresolved issues and agree to work in cooperation with the goal of opening the ballpark for the 2029 MLB season," the MOU memo reads. "While this MOU is non-binding, it serves as the roadmap for all future agreements for the project that will be legally binding." For those who don't think @USFFootball draws viewers here are some 2025 numbers. In 2025, USF appears to have been the strongest college-football draw in the Tampa Bay market, ahead of @GatorsFB , @FSUFootball and @CanesFootball , based on the reporting that cited Nielsen viewership data for the Tampa region. Nielsen data said USF averaged about 1.5 to 1.7 million local viewers per game, ahead of Florida at 1.3 to 1.5 million, Florida State at 1.2 to 1.4 million, and Miami at 1.1 to 1.3 million. That same report described USF as the dominant local college-football story in Tampa Bay. USF’s edge in Tampa Bay seems to come from stronger local relevance and a very good 2025 season, while Florida, FSU, and Miami still drew big national audiences but were less dominant locally in Tampa.

I the fourth quarter, I was icing my shoulder and the Cavs tanked. I stopped icing with the Cavs down nine late in the fourth quarter and they took over en route to a big win.
