Our final full day in Modesto. ❤️🇺🇸 Yesterday we spent some time with the wonderful @MargeleyB We went to @Costco. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a membership yet because we don't have a permanent address, but we absolutely loved what we saw and we'll definitely be signing up as soon as we can. She took the time to show us around, answer all our questions, and made us feel so welcome. Then she surprised our family with dinner at @fuziomodesto, including dessert. ❤️ Oh my goodness... the food was incredible, and the dessert was even better! As if that wasn't enough, she also arranged and paid for our shuttle to the airport today. The kindness we've experienced from Americans since arriving has honestly left us speechless. Time and time again, God has placed incredible people in our path exactly when we needed them. @MargeleyB, thank you for your generosity, your friendship, and your servant's heart. You truly are a patriot, a woman of God, and a blessing to everyone who knows you. If anyone is looking for a realtor in the Modesto area, I couldn't recommend her more highly. Today we say goodbye to Modesto. Thank you for being our first American hometown. We'll always remember our first week here with gratitude. Texas... here we come! 🤠🇨🇱➡️🇺🇸❤️

My cabin fever is over! I'm lucky to have been taken to the local arboretum which is stunning. Although I can't walk far and have spent most of the time sitting on a bench, I've met some new Safugees and enjoyed the beauty and tranquility. Thank you Emma.

Currently we don't have the means of transporting items like these but we hope to buy a trailer soon. You are correct John, it would be much cheaper to buy furniture yourself if the agencies should give you the option and assist you with transportation. Yet I don't believe they will give us the funds to buy it ourselves. Also many of these items for sale work on "first come, first buy" basis. By the time you get transportation arranged it's gone already. We have missed many bargains and curb pick-ups like this. But we are working on it. We tried buying an E150 Van. Sadly the person did us in......we are in the process of taking him to the small claims court, so we should get our money back..... eventually.

Abatement must be done. It's not whining to me, it's an issue all newcomers to America should be looking out for and I for one am glad you brought this to light. The only foreigners I'm sick of are the ones that come here, steal our aid and send it to their countries, and the ones that came here to get free everything for over a year under the Biden Administration, not to mention the ones that just come here to have babies making their kids an instant US citizen. None of this is fair to the people that come here doing the hard work to become a US Citizen. I welcome and want to help every SA that came here for safety as I know they are here to assimilate to America and her values while looking for jobs to help our economy. ⚠️ UPDATE: An assessor from Spangler Restoration just came out to assess the issue. They wouldn't tell us it's not mold but they'll be cleaning all of it if the estate signs off. Hopefully it would be sorted after that. They'll also be cleaning at our American neighbors next door. We're so happy there is a possibility that we can continue to stay here, mold- or as they put it, "organic matter"-free. If my "whining" helps protect my son's health and that of Americans, it's a win in my books. Things are happening! I'll keep you guys posted. 🙏🙏🙏
