I dont think all ages cons are really gonna listen to the complaining idk why would they 😭 but yeah surely there already exists 18+ furry cons where every waking moment isn't sex (i havent been to any i just am assuming)
But yeah at all ages cons just be attentive about who youre talking to (if they have a minor badge, how old they are if it comes up in conversation/if you ask (though lying exists ik), if its about like a room party at the con or smth I assume you're allowed to ID people, etc.) and generally just go about your day just fine

@paper_gabriel08 Ppl brought up good points, one, ppl could use the sex offender registry, BUT that only shows pedophiles that offended and were caught. Honestly there is no sure fire way to catch them but instead of trying to catch them I think we should monitor and protect the minors more.

You can't use that TX furry case as an example to if cons should be 18+ or not, this abuse was happening anyways. He was his legal guardian / foster parent.

@Verticalcraze yes, you figured out that he was the foster parent of the child. i didn't want to put others through that revelation. his reddit account is full of foster care questions and posts about being a foster parent.

A North Texas man will spend years in federal prison after transporting a minor to a furry convention in Georgia, sexually abusing them, and commissioning artwork of sexual acts between the victim and his "furry persona." On July 13, 37-year-old Joseph Ray Robertson pleaded guilty to transportation of minors and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the U.S. Department of Justice announced on Tuesday. Judge Richard Schell also imposed a lifetime supervised release on Robertson. Prosecutors said in 2024, Robertson transported a minor from Frisco to Atlanta, Georgia to a furry convention.

Any furry you see answering this with "just make cons 18+" is virtue signaling. They don't actually care about the safety of children, they just want them out so they can turn cons into a degenerate theme park.
They'd rather kick kids out then deal with sexual predators.
