The traditional mall food court, a place we all have a choice of what is our next meal.
How beautiful would it be if every student in every community across Oklahoma had a choice regarding their education.

@gohogsgirl @GovStitt The study was showing results pre-Covid.

Great news! Oklahoma charter schools rank #6 in the nation for student success.
We’re proving that when students have choices in their education, they thrive.

@gohogsgirl @GovStitt Incorrect. Testing requirements are exactly the same.
English

@GovStitt This is such a fake claim. They don’t test the same way public schools do.
English

@GovStitt …when compared to what? You’re not being fully honest here.
English

@remigibbs @GovStitt Sure. Just to name a few for you. Harding Charter Preparatory High School, Harding Fine Arts, Santa Fe South, Dove Science Academy, Tulsa Honor Academy, KIPP OKC, John Rex, Western Gateway, Independence
English

@princesssooner @GovStitt Charter schools are public schools.
English

@GovStitt Charter Schools or: schools that lower ses students cannot afford?
English

@sjhbrooklyn @GovStitt If you read the study, it excludes virtual charter schools.
English

@GovStitt Did you factor in the failing grade "earned" by Epic?
English

@afugate @Mr_Mojo_Risin0 OSSM and Classen SAS that are magnet schools, schools that select students based on academic performance. Booker T I give a point to you.
English

@StefanickSteven @Mr_Mojo_Risin0 No doubt there are excellent charter schools, like Harding. There are also great public schools like OSSM, Classen, and Booker T.
English

@Mr_Mojo_Risin0 @afugate If you read the data information, this study shows virtual schools were excluded. Good try though!
English

@afugate Hmm wonder how the most funded charter in state history performed against our "failing public schools"...

English

@afugate @CbrewsterOKC You are correct. It is comparing other charter schools in each state. However, instead of continuing to compare, why don’t you celebrate the work charters are doing in Oklahoma?
Also - this report is excluding virtual charter schools.
English

@CbrewsterOKC Thank you.
This is the report. It says Oklahoma ranks 6th out of the 35 states plus DC referenced for charter school achievement. Did I misread this?

@CbrewsterOKC @TheOklahoman_ I’m excited to have other options in NE OKC, other than our charter! #SchoolChoice
English

I am excited about these schools that will soon be options for learners in NE OKC! I know some of the school founders personally and these are exceptionally capable professionals who bring excellence to their work.

@afugate Redbud funds is more than just buildings - the funding formula as you are quite aware is not equitable as there are hundreds of districts unable to bond for buildings.
Without buildings, you have no school.
English

🤦♂️
Redbud funds are used to build buildings. 🤷♂️
The state funding formula sends money to classrooms. 👍
Tres Savage@ThriceSavage
I asked @GovStitt about the grant program this morning, and he replied with a brief description of the newest proposed solution: More money into the state's #Redbud Fund. Details on that here: sde.ok.gov/redbud-school-…

@waldron4ok Traditional public schools in Oklahoma have shown a pattern of failure for over 100 years. Charters schools have shown a growth in success in 25 years.
