@jojalonen Iso kysymys tietysti on: miksi vain varapuheenjohtajaksi, nössöttääkö?

Full support. Toivon mukaan myös Atte Kaleva ja Martin Paasi lähtevät skabaan ja pääsevät vaikutusvaltaisiin asemiin, niin kykypuolueella on viimeinkin sellainen johto, minkä se ansaitsee.

@Tom_Maguire @DouthatNYT Yes, that would be what I was referring to. That would also indeed resolve to "yes" if, say, NASA confirmed microbes on Mars.

@Stefferi @DouthatNYT Getting to "Yes": "If the President, any member of the Cabinet, any member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or any US federal agency definitively states that extraterrestrial life or technology exists before Jan 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes." kalshi.com/markets/kxalie…

@jojalonen @Uutistoimittaja Spiked ja sen edeltäjä Living Marxism ovat ainakin olleet johdonmukaisia siinä että melko lailla ihan mikä tahansa julkinen keskustelu lapsiin sekaantumisesta koskaan on aina tuomittu näissä lehdissä moraalipaniikiksi.

@Uutistoimittaja Niin, siis kusikahelimpaa julkaisua saa hakea. Brexitin, koronahörhöilyn ja patologisen sukupuolivähemmistöjen pelon ohella Spikedin podcastissa näköjään jutellaan nyt, miten Epsteinin tapaus on moraalipaniikki.

Haluatko ymmärtää, mitä brittipolitiikassa _oikeasti_ tapahtuu? Ota seurantaan Spiked! Se on perinteisiä liberalismin arvoja (ei sitä 2000-luvun valeliberaalia höttöä) puolustava julkaisu, joka yhä selvemmin näkee Britanniassa meneillään olevan disintegraation.
spiked@spikedonline

The Gorton and Denton by-election was an alarming insight into what electoral politics is going to look like in an increasingly divided, multicultural Britain’ @Tom_Slater_ and @rakibehsan on the spiked podcast

@Stefferi @DouthatNYT why would that be secret information? if NASA discovered microbes on Mars that would be announcing it to the world. they did it in the '90s prematurely

@PaulConRO If "It seems that CEE and Southeastern Europe always think the opposite of Western Europe", shouldn't they be in the green, not in the red?

I've been trying to understand these results. It seems that CEE and Southeastern Europe always think the opposite of Western Europe. My explanation lies in history: these countries fought against the expansionist Ottoman Empire, Russia in its various forms, and Western colonial empires. We have very different histories, religions, backgrounds, and cultures. It will take decades to harmonize our stances, if that ever happens. Living standards have increased significantly since EU accession, but not for everyone. Some people found themselves in a new world, already too old to adapt. Entire industries and ways of life that people grew accustomed to during the commie regime are now gone. Some rural areas have been deserted due to factory closures. Russia hates us, and the West often looks down on us without realizing that it is not our fault to have barbarians at our borders. Some frustrated people would even like Russia to plunder the West, just as it did to us for 50 years. It's complicated. Judging is easy, understanding is not..

NFL really needs to do something to solve the crowd noise problem. Aside from hearing loss issues, nobody wants to watch a game where the players can’t communicate strategy to one another

@mjlith "Lisäksi eivät republikaanit Amerikassa vastusta Eurooppaa itsessään, vaan surkeaa maahanmuuttopolitiikkaa" Niin siis siksi republikaanihallinto päätti erikseen lähteä koulukiusaamaan Tanskaa, jossa on ollut tiukka maahanmuuttopolitiikka?

HS on täysin väärässä.

@MattBruenig I remember a lot of talk about how the introduction of euro would allow stores to bake in price inflation in Finland in 2002 but am not sure if it actually happened or was just vibes. A lot of people continued to "multiply by six to get the real price in markkas" for years after.

@MattBruenig OTOH did (say) the introduction of euro, changing the price sums in various euro countries without ordinary deflation, change business habits in any way? Maybe?

@CEOofTricell @toffee_32 Real oldheads remember that the truest old-school NMA position was that Fallout 1 was the only true-to-the-spirit Fallout game and Fallout 2 was already too silly and too much of a departure.

@toffee_32 Honestly, the No Mutants Allowed-tier fans who rabidly documented and consumed every bit of Fallout 1 and 2 and were mad at Fallout 3 are VERY different from the 20-something "New Vegas" fan who has a much weaker grasp of the series and learned most from YouTube shorts.

This new thing of using ''New Vegas fan'' as an insult against pretentious fans is so funny because it's as if fallout fans weren't like this in general since the early days of No Mutants Allowed :P The annoying nerds have been here first, since the start, stay in your lane

@MattBruenig @ZeroSuitCamus While I find pesis boring, the one odd thing is that it's specifically the base pattern that breaks American brains. Not remotely the biggest difference to baseball. Also having the pitcher throw the ball straight up is obviously superior to whatever the Americans are doing.

@daveweigel A few years back, you tweeted about the movie ‘Yesterday’ and mentioned that a problem you had was who was now the biggest band in the world without The Beatles? Is it Herman’s Hermits? I think about what you said, especially the Herman’s Hermits part, too much to this day.
