Something’s brewing in Paris! 🌟 SCENES: The Sensory and Constructed Image in the Digital Age, opening November 13 at @ParisPhotoFair with @tezos x @ArtverseParis. The show is all about what photography becomes when digital tools start holding emotion and memory instead of just capturing them. I’ll be debuting my new work After Ophelia, two video works made with 3D and AI. Opening Nov 13 at SCENES alongside artists @emikusano, @GrantYun2, @Reuben_Wu, @niceaunties & @g_enesiskai. I've seen some of the work, it's looking goood! Thank you @bygrida for making it happen! More soon. 💐🌊

VAT is removed when I export art to the US. But my country uses the VAT system Does this mean I need raise my US prices with 21%, on top of the US sales taxes? US was already a hassle, maybe I should just stop working with that market
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

On Trade, I have decided, for purposes of Fairness, that I will charge a RECIPROCAL Tariff meaning, whatever Countries charge the United States of America, we will charge them - No more, no less! For purposes of this United States Policy, we will consider Countries that use the VAT System, which is far more punitive than a Tariff, to be similar to that of a Tariff. Sending merchandise, product, or anything by any other name through another Country, for purposes of unfairly harming America, will not be accepted. In addition, we will make provision for subsidies provided by Countries in order to take Economic advantage of the United States. Likewise, provisions will be made for Nonmonetary Tariffs and Trade Barriers that some Countries charge in order to keep our product out of their domain or, if they do not even let U.S. businesses operate. We are able to accurately determine the cost of these Nonmonetary Trade Barriers. It is fair to all, no other Country can complain and, in some cases, if a Country feels that the United States would be getting too high a Tariff, all they have to do is reduce or terminate their Tariff against us. There are no Tariffs if you manufacture or build your product in the United States. For many years, the U.S. has been treated unfairly by other Countries, both friend and foe. This System will immediately bring Fairness and Prosperity back into the previously complex and unfair System of Trade. America has helped many Countries throughout the years, at great financial cost. It is now time that these Countries remember this, and treat us fairly – A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR AMERICAN WORKERS. I have instructed my Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of the Treasury, and United States Trade Representative (USTR) to do all work necessary to deliver RECIPROCITY to our System of Trade!

@Coldie I think there are 2 broad groups of collectors right now(atleast when we look at collectors that buy work to display). Those that are tech savvy and integrate technology in their personal life, and those to reduce stimuli and go back to basics. My work fits that second ground

@Coldie Artisanship is an important part of my work. So my work has to be printed on special paper, by artisans. And framed by artisan framers. And my physical collectors appreciate that. Digital artisanship is just a new thing for them. But they understand the value of it

The amount of highly talented artists in this space is undeniable. The lack of art collectors entering the space is also undeniable. Until there is more balance, it will be… unbalanced. There is an underlying issue between traditional art and digital art that feels way more toxic than it should be.

Real talk. Beeple and Refik Anadol are in a class of their own re: global digital art. XCOPY is cult. Spratt is rising. Pak is still present (come back please). Who else? Some are surging! @m0dest___ and @mendezmendez are two examples. Pay attention.

Im going through the Christie’s ai collection. A lot has been said already, but besides ethical concerns AI worries because it has the potential to erode appreciation and advances me have made by understanding the principals of designs. 1/

@suparno67 @ecutruin But on the other hand, is it wrong to like things that we just think are good? Why does a personal taste need disruption? I don’t really see anything new from ai in this regard yet. We are just repeating the discussion on machine-artist relationships from the 60s I think

@suparno67 @ecutruin You don’t have to think the comedian is a good artwork, to understand it was successful at its intended messaging. Maybe the disruption we need is that common understanding of art needs to catchup with the theoretical understanding of art.

@suparno67 Im just not sure what the disruption will be. It feels like it can go two ways. Either ai does dive into a whole new direction of art and what art can be. Or it reaffirms what we have in a such an extreme and overwhelming manner, that human artists can only react with change

@suparno67 Thanks, and I agree with you. I think my expectations of a good ai curation are high. And that what I’m looking for in art that disrupts our visual art understanding is not what an institute like Christie’s looks for.

@KarlTrewhelaArt Yeah, thinking ahead about it and planning just takes something out. It’s a non-linear problem that needs to be solved in the moment. And I will! Just need to find some time to start working on this. But really happy to hear you would be interested :D

I'm always thinking about balance and harmony within the composition but I never plan ahead, it's juat too boring. Just each element leading to the next as with ink you can't move things around afterwards. Would be interesting to see a thread of works that you think pushed the boundaries in relatively recent times.
