Romans 8:37-39 37. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let me beat you a story. As I was getting ready for admission at the hospital early last week and I submitted my private insurance, I was asked if I was registered for SHA. I said no, and the clerk at the counter advised that I consider registering as it might settle some things. So I tried to register the better part of the day. We would input the OTP, it would buffer forever, then take us back to the start. Again and again, until we gave up. We even called someone at SHA, and they told us that the system was down. We moved on but kept thinking, what happens to vulnerable people who might be having emergencies on a day like this? They have to pay a whole year’s premium just to qualify, and yet the system is down. It must be extremely frustrating and dehumanizing 😓 Anyway, on the eve of my discharge, I decided to try again. Mr. told me not to bother, as it was already too late. Out of curiosity, nikajifanya mjanja and went ahead to register without involving him. Being a truthful woman to some extent 😜, after filling in my details I ended up paying almost ksh 50,000 in premiums. Fast forward to discharge day… I see SHA has only paid around ksh 4,000 towards the bed for one night. I ask Mr. why it hasn’t covered the procedure, medication etc and he just goes, like, “Didn’t I tell you not to register as it was already too late?” Anyway, we all know using SHA for outpatient is like trying to draw water from a rock. So ni kama pesa yangu imepotelea hivyo 🙊 It’s just sad to imagine that the taxpayers paid ksh 104 billion to build a system this unstable, not to mention the millions that continue to disappear in its maintenance. At this point, I have concluded that any form of relationship with this government is unreliable and parasitic, and I want none of it apart from the parts I can’t avoid like KRA.

On Saba Saba Day 1990, I was a prospective University of Nairobi Student but as a young activist who would rise to be SONU 92 Treasurer, I was trusted by akina Jaramogi, Wangari Maathai, Ngengi Muigai, James Orengo etc to coordinate Kiambu and Muranga Maandamanos. I am sure the entire team of my seniors then DO NOT approve the abductions of today

A majority of our security personnel are spending Christmas and the festive season away from their loved ones to keep our country safe and secure. It's a sacrifice worth our praise. Today, I visited Kainuk, Ngaratuko, Tot and Turkwel security camps in the Kerio Valley to celebrate Christmas with the officers whose work has brought peace to the region. I applauded the officers for their patriotism and assured them of our full support as they work to bring lasting peace to the region.

Jesus, our Saviour, was born in poverty and humility. He was rejected & persecuted by the mighty of the world. How we pray Our Nation would listen to Gods voice! In our pride, we often prefer to hear the “voice of the world”, the “clamor of commerce“, “the cacophony of the false promises”, “the litanies of self praise”!Let us tune ourselves to the Heart of God, that speaks truth, & reaches out to care and to uplift, to love and to show mercy!Christmas is about letting God into our lives! Blessed Christmas!

Got my first teaching job in Jan 2016 at Eslenkel Supat, where I was given 18k monthly sal. I survived and used to live in a 3k bedsitter at Mashuuru. Also, we only had a few proboxes plying that route and no tamarc at the time. The only problem was that I'd be forced to fetch water from the school and carry it to my simple Bedsitter. In 2017, I left for Mulot, where I got a job at Sogoo, worked for 2 months, and then left for Nairobi. Used to be 'mtu wa mkono' at Nairobi School, where I would do marking for science teachers. I managed to get a job and left for 3 other schools in Nairobi before resigning and focusing on other things and private practices. And all these I was doing while still studying. (I paid my own school fees as my dad advised that I needed to learn to be independent) Life isn't always rosy as it seems, and the challenges are part of growth.

@Gideon_Kitheka There is nothing special about this, first the position is rotational, second kina Samia knows Ruto likes attention, and this will keep him busy as they build their economies to overtake Kenya properly. Meanwhile your clueless president was praising Tz for being leading exporter.

President William Ruto’s appointment as the new chairperson of the EAC marks an important step for the region. His focus on fostering peace, enhancing trade, and removing barriers aims to strengthen economic ties and regional unity. Timely contributions from member states are crucial to advancing the EAC’s goals. His leadership offers a renewed opportunity to address challenges and unlock the full potential of East Africa.

Okiya Omtatah @OkiyaOmtatah has INTENTIONALY been putting on his ROSARY since he first announced his intentions to go for the presidency. People may not see it as a big thing, but being a practising CATHOLIC myself, I know how powerful a SYMBOL the Rosary is to the Catholic church. My point... According to the Catholic church data, we have 18M baptised catholics in Kenya. Let us assume half of the population are eligible to vote, which is 9M. Of those half of them are devoted Catholics, that is apprx 4.5M votes. The Catholic church is now at loggerheads with the state, now that they have a candidate who openly proffeses their faith and dons the Holy Rosary with pride, why shouldnt they throw their weight behind him? If the conflict between the church and the state heightens and it appears that the state is fighting catholics, then Okiya stands to reap big. No priest, no bishop, no archbishop, no cardinal will preach against Omtatah. Do you know how influential and powerful the Catholic church is? The forum and podium Okiya will be given for free, the contributions from congregants? Okiya knows what he is doing. Continue calling him poor. SYMBOLISM.

President Ruto’s commendation of Tanzania for overtaking Kenya in trade within East Africa is deeply concerning. Rather than celebrating our neighbor’s growth, this statement inadvertently highlights the failure of Kenya’s current policies to sustain its regional economic leadership. Kenya’s underperformance is not accidental; it stems from burdensome taxation, unpredictable business policies, and widespread corruption. These factors have driven investors across the border, leading to increased unemployment, reduced tax revenues, and a sharp decline in Kenyan exports. The cracks caused by these ill-conceived policies are weakening Kenya’s economic foundation, making it harder for businesses to thrive and for citizens to sustain their livelihoods. A thriving economy cannot be built on overtaxation, corruption and disruptive governance. It requires transparency, consistent policies, and a business-friendly environment that inspires confidence among investors and citizens alike. Kenya has the potential to reclaim its position as a regional powerhouse, but only if decisive actions are taken to address these critical challenges. #GetItDone

MEN and WORK The man invented work so that he can fortify his kingdom, protect his family and provide for his lineage. Therefore, work is masculine. Women hate to work, not because they are lazy but because nature designed women to sit and nurture. By work I mean having goals, pursuing them and achieving them. Work is only given to a man who is competent. Only men who show discipline, order and commitment should be given work. Work is NOT about a salary or money but work is about the competency of your skills. Your skills are meant to solve problems. Once you solve a problem, the person whose problem you solved will say "thank you." This " thank you" is today personified by a value known as money. The more "thank you" you receive, the more money you are paid. A man does not look for work because he is "work". If he does not get into a system that accommodates his work, then he builds his own system where he accommodates his work. If you have read what I have written up to here, you will notice I am talking about " WORK" not "jobs". A job is not work. A job is a by-product of employment. While employment is a product of work. Therefore, work creates employment and employment creates jobs. A man is work; therefore, he creates employment. Many men go to school because they anticipate being employed. They are looking for jobs. They sit on their potential, discard their skills and walk from office to office looking for jobs. Countries where there is massive unemployment, are countries where men have refused to work. Men in these countries go to college to be trained how to be employees. Then when they don't get jobs, they begin throwing tantrums and abusing their Government. Governments have jobs but don't have work. These jobs reach their limit, and Governments fail to employ more. So, these Governments begin creating other unnecessary jobs to absorb people who have refused to work. Governments are supposed to create an enabling environment for work. However, since modern men have become lazy, they want to be employed in jobs where they just go, sit and wait for a monthly salary. A man who is begging for a job should never be given any job. A man who is standing at a corner of a street with a placard begging for a job should never be given any job. A man employed out of sympathy will never help the owner of the work to deliver the goals. This is a man who will be whining at the job or if his performance is questionable, he will be reminded that he was given work out of sympathy. A man is work. A man does not look for work but work looks for man. Because man is the embodiment of skills. He doesn't require anyone to sympathize with him because a man is the embodiment of work. A man is work, and work is man. That's why workers are men. Plumbers, electricians, loggers, carpenters, masons, mechanics, farmers etc are men at work. They are not men at jobs. If you are a teacher, being a teacher is a job, but teaching is work. That's why we have competent teachers and incompetent teachers. If you are a president, being a president is a job but leading is work. That's why some presidents are incompetent, and others are competent. A job is a title, while work is responsibility. A father is a title, while fatherhood is a responsibility. If you don't know your work, and build your work, you will suffer in this earth. Jesus of Nazareth was a carpenter. He was a worker. He used the skills of his work to preach the gospel. Work is the vehicle to your dreams. Work is production. Work is productivity. Work is skilled work. Work is a craft. Work on your work! #MasculinitySaturday.

Leaders are coming up to change Kenya. You are busy pulling them down. Insulting and mocking them. Undermining their effort. But you are not ready to step up and be courageous like them. You are the reason Ruto is still in power.
