In case you wanted an update on how the shortage of skilled labor in the trades is going: Me, calling sub: "I was expecting your guy at 8 today. He didn't show. What's up?" Sub: "He was there, but no one was there to let him in" Me: "I was here" Sub: "Oh. He says he stood at the door for 30 mins" Me: "Why didn't he ring the doorbell?" Sub, with barely contained frustration and disbelief: "Um...I really couldn't say." Good help is almost impossible to come by. It's affecting everyone in the building industry, and has been for a long time. If you want to know why prices are so high, it's because someone has to cover the costs of these idiots who have to be sent out to jobsites multiple times because they screw things up or make a big mess or...just don't ring the doorbell to be let in 😅
