@WANEPNigeria @gnwp_gnwp I raised a question on improving data collection for WPS and YPS to better track progress and the importance of strengthening coordination. I also highlighted the relatively low level of awareness of #WPS and #YPS within #academia and the need to extend our engagement/advocacy.

Over the past two days, I was privileged to have been a part of the two-day hybrid town hall meeting organised by @WANEPNigeria, with support from @gnwp_gnwp and Global Affairs Canada for stakeholders working on #Women and #Youth inclusion in #Peace and #Security across #Nigeria.

I think one of the challenges of this generation is that we have begun to equate #success with #money and instant gratification. If we diminish professions that shape minds and societies, what does that say about our value system? We really need to rethink what success means.

Given that it was an all-girls school, I focused on the importance of girl-child education and how education empowers girls to participate meaningfully in leadership, governance and national development. I also introduced them to the 17 SDGs and how they can advance the goals.

Over the past ten years, UNSCR 2250 has reshaped how the world understands youth leadership. It has given youth-led organisations, especially across Africa, the global visibility and legitimacy they long deserved.
