@SenSchumer @SenWarren Stop trying to pass the buck to someone else! You are the leader of the Senate! Introduce legislation to make it happen. Put it in the Covid bill!

@ewarren @chuckschumer If you really wanted to make it happen you would introduce legislation instead of trying to get brownie points by tweeting that you’ve asked someone else to do it. You want it done? Put it in the Covid relief bill

The president has the legal authority to cancel $50,000 of student loan debt, which will help close the racial wealth gap and benefit the 40% of borrowers who don’t have a college degree. @ChuckSchumer and I will keep calling on the administration to make it happen.

The federal minimum wage hasn’t increased in more than a decade. Now, working families—especially workers of color—are battling a pandemic with barely enough to get by. With 2/3rds of Americans supporting raising the minimum wage to $15/hour, let’s look at why it hasn’t budged.

Students nationwide should be able to attend college and pursue their dreams without being saddled with crushing debt for years to come. As we tackle this #PublicHealth and economic crisis, there’s never been a better time to #CancelStudentDebt.
Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley@RepPressley

Today, I’m calling on @POTUS to cancel up to $50K in student loan debt with @SenWarren, @SenSchumer, @Ilhan, @RepMondaire and @RepAdams. Tune in at 11 AM ET: youtube.com/watch?v=t-n-k2…

For every generation before mine, education has offered young people a ticket to the American Dream. Unfortunately, that dream has not materialized for the youth of today. We called on @POTUS to #CancelStudentDebt and put money back into the pockets of millions of Americans.
NowThis Impact@nowthisimpact

Rep. Mondaire Jones: ‘Thousands of young people [in my district] have to live at home with their parents … that’s not their fault. They did everything they were supposed to do. Now, this president must do what he is supposed to do.’

The student debt crisis is not accidental or dysfunctional – lawmakers, banks, and loan servicers are responsible for a system that crushes American families. It's time for collective action to #CancelStudentDebt and secure affordable higher education for all.
Becky Pringle@BeckyPringle

Our right to learn, grow and thrive, should be based on how big we dream and how hard we work, not where we come from, or how much money we make. I call on our leaders to use every tool they can to #CancelStudentDebt, including by executive action: bit.ly/36HqkYK

The last thing Congress should be doing right now is looking for ways to help fewer struggling families. I strongly oppose lowering the income eligibility cap for stimulus checks from $75,000 to $50,000. It's bad economic policy and just plain cruel. newsweek.com/third-stimulus…

The cost of housing, child care, and college have gone through the roof, but Congress hasn’t raised the federal minimum wage in almost 12 years. No excuses – Dems need to right this wrong, raise the minimum wage to $15/hr, and give families the raise they’ve long deserved.

PHEAA/FedLoan Servicing cheated hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts teachers, nurses, and other public servants from making student loan payments toward federal loan forgiveness programs. @MassAGO Healey’s hard work is great news for MA borrowers.

This is a big step, and Congress must help President Biden by funding our federal vaccine program so we can end this pandemic, safely reopen schools, and help families recover. That's why I'm fighting to strengthen and pass the next relief package now. nbcnews.com/politics/joe-b…

Biden-Harris ran on the most progressive economic and racial justice platform of any general election nominee ever. Now isn't the time to hand over the keys to corporate lobbyists. Read my op-ed on why Dems need to take bold steps for the American people. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/…

President-elect Biden has already committed to reentering the Paris Climate Accord, reinstating DACA, and ending the travel ban against certain Muslim countries. But there are lots of big changes that a Biden-Harris administration can achieve on day one:

Millions of Americans are trying to survive on starvation wages. Half of our people are living paycheck to paycheck. Inequality is growing. It is a moral imperative to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. We must act NOW. twitter.com/nytopinion/sta…
