@realmattwith @ChristopherHine I agree, Ayo could have signed anywhere he wanted as an UFA. I never said that he couldn’t, I was saying Wolves didn’t need to clear room because with his bird rights they could have offered that same contract with Julius still on the team.
English

@SteveG_MN @ChristopherHine So if you do, then you know that he could have signed anywhere he wanted regardless of what we offered
English

@SteveG_MN @ChristopherHine Do you know what bird rights are?
English

@mdotbrown Is keeping same efficiency metrics while taking a slight step back on defense “taking a leap”? I would argue they want to alter his role more than expect him to morph into a different player. Get another POA defender to reduce his responsibility on D and increase shot attempts.
English

@TwolvesBlog Agreed, patience for next move or two but looks rough. IF they were going to get off older players contracts and see what they have in the young guys, why not last year when they had their draft pick? This feels very reactive and myopic.
English

@jbrenner01 @CharlieWaltonMN “Definitely” - I think you’re right, I also think it could lock them into an overpay, Ayo’s camp was just gifted a massive amount of leverage, no matter the contract they’ll be forced to match.
English

@SteveG_MN @CharlieWaltonMN They will definitely keep Ayo after this trade.
English

Dumping Randle's salary is the second of such moves Tim Connelly has made (did it at the trade deadline by sending Mike Conley to the Bulls, which put the Wolves under the first apron).
Wolves now — with nine players under contract for next season — are roughly $44 million below the luxury tax, $52 million below the first apron, and $65 millon below the second apron.
Flexibility in the tax apron era. That is a great thing.
English

@KyleTheige Why in the fuck would Connelly setup a gap year when they don’t have a FRP, last year was the move and he botched that. Turned Randle, Rob and 21 into Ayo and 33 while also probably guaranteeing a lotto pick going to another team. Terrible asset management.
English

@DftBMerritta @SteveG_MN Yeah. The potential positional value benefit you get (5+ points) is worth it imo. But would have to be a very good team of course.
In a startup, that’s a 4th, 8th and future 1st for (IMO) a top 5 pick. Pretty reasonable
English

@JonKrawczynski It also quotes you as saying there will be “significant roster changes” this summer. Is that accurate or also out of context? I’ll listed to podcast but just for clarification on here.
English

@jpeiters @JaceFrederick Goaltend on Kornet, Offensive goaltend on Wemby, Wemby loses out of bounds and Spurs ball, Wemby two hand push on every screen…seems like the refs aren’t pulling for Knicks too much.
English

@JaceFrederick Some borderline foul calls on KAT early may have swung game, but other than that the refs are totally favoring the Knicks. (Falling for the Brunson flops)
English

@JakePaynting Lamelo-lite. Best thing for Wolves is if they find someone to get the best out of all their finishers offensively.
English

@JakePaynting Idk it might be take De Larrea at 28 or miss out on him. If they don’t trade 28 with other assets for a win now move, De Larrea is a fun fit with the younger pieces.
English

Why would they ever be banned???
Saad Asad@realsaadasad
Washington unanimously legalized scissor stairs, a building code reform that frees up to 56% more living space per floor. Less wasted space means cheaper homes on smaller lots. Most US states banned this since the 1970s for no good reason.
English

@aryh21 He wasn’t even the MVP of his own team in 2016, sure top 7 because Steph was by far the best itl and Draymond received the good player on great team secondary votes. In alternate reality where he doesn’t have Step, he’s thought of similarly to Joakim Noah or Marcus Smart.
English

I’ll forgive him because Draymond is being an asshole but Draymond is literally the best defender ever and peaked as an MVP candidate
A dude like Rivers calling Draymond a bum is kind of nuts
Jamal Cristopher@JamCristopher
Austin rivers smoked it here. Said nothing but facts about draymond
English

@SchultzieXC @DevonBirdsong Ask yourself if goaltending can be challenged, that would be your answer. On the phantom calls, I’m not sure.
English

@DevonBirdsong Why didn’t the Timberwolves challenge those goaltends? Why didn’t SA challenge those phantom calls? One complaining about something that could be challenged over complaining about things that can’t be challenged. Which coach is playing chess and which is playing checkers.
English

Let's say Wemby had multiple goal tends. He didn't, but let say he did for sake of argument.
I'd say that more or less balances out the phantom calls on Castle that led to his fouling out.
Sound fair?
Alan Horton@WolvesRadio
"When we looked at them at least 4 were goaltending. It's a little alarming that NONE of them were called & there's no heightened awareness that [they] could be goaltends. That's 8 points. The value of 8 points in an NBA game is massive." -Chris Finch on Wemby's 12 blocks.
English

@DevonBirdsong Does it also remove the Jaden phantom calls? Also if the weak-ish calls are removed from Castle how about the multiple flops he was rewarded? If Spurs just want to play physical tough basketball and stop flopping I’m sure the Wolves would agree.
