Interesting 🤔 I never a wore a uniform in secondary school - that was long enough ago for me to have denim dungarees and a blonde mullet though.

Bumped into a former colleague today on the train, Supt Will Jenkins - currently seconded to the Home Office. He reminded me of a trip to London we had a number of years ago to a conference. I was in economy and Humberside Police had sorted him First Class! He was sending me pictures of his food - How the other half live!

It’s safe to say Winnie wasn’t enamoured with the concept of me getting ready an early train today - half mole, half bulldog

Just reflecting on my visit yesterday to Owler Brook Primary School in Sheffield, where I met with Kit Oldham, Headteacher and Sue Bridges, MAT CEO - such an inspiring visit. The commitment to collaboration and doing the right thing, however tough, was like a beacon of light. Such an incredible culture they have been able to build, amidst some real challenges.

Probably the busiest week I’ve had in such a long time. So much going on at the minute for everyone isn’t there. As I pull into Sheffield, having read my papers and written a couple thank you cards, I’m turning to Simon Dunmore and Coke Escovedo to ease me into the day

Brain melting 🫠 after a useful and productive day - I wonder if Nana naps are a thing in public services anywhere in the world?

Number 1 son, Jake, in Stockport today, delivering some lessons on energy in a Primary School - he’s a mechanical engineer, so not used to managing a class full of Primary children. He appreciates his sister just a little bit more now I think @Year6MissKay 🫡

Just left the Sheffield Inclusion Centre, our PRU, after a really positive meeting with my colleague Pat, and Tuesday Rhodes the HT - exploring some of the real challenges we face in the city with sufficiency and the art of the possible. This binder on the HT’s desk says where the anchor point is 🫡

Just spent an amazing couple hours at Prince Edward School. Utterly brilliant. Some really useful conversations about Sheffield, SEND and moving forward.
