I moved from Kenya to Germany to work. Here’s the financial reality Africans aren’t told 🇩🇪 1/ You earn more. But you don’t feel rich. Europe is expensive in quiet ways: • insurance • tax • rent • energy • transport Salary rises. So do costs. 2/ In Kenya, money pressure is visible. In Germany, it’s invisible. Bills are automated. Deductions silent. You don’t see money leave. But it leaves. 3/ Sending money home changes meaning abroad. €100 in Germany = small €100 in Kenya = big You live in two value systems at once. 4/ Saving abroad is easier structurally. But harder emotionally. Because: You compare You support family You feel responsible 5/ The biggest shift: Abroad, wealth isn’t income. It’s what remains after stability. Most immigrants reach stability. Few reach wealth. 6/ Still — moving abroad changed my financial life. Not because Europe is rich. But because systems are predictable. And predictability builds wealth. — Sharing diaspora money lessons as a Kenyan in Germany 🇰🇪🇩🇪

@GathogoBMwangi @SafaricomPLC Hi @GathogoBMwangi sorry for the inconvenience. To log back into My OneApp while abroad, ensure your Safaricom SIM is inserted as primary, roaming is active, and use mobile data (not Wi‑Fi) for the first login. You can switch to Wi‑Fi after. Thanks for your patience.

Dear @SafaricomPLC @Safaricom_Care this is utmost inconvenience for users of Mpesa outside the country. You have logged out all of us and the only way to login again is to have the Safaricom network connected, which doesn’t work on roaming. One had to wait to come to Ke so they can activate the app. Now tell me, what do you want me to do with the money in my mpesa? How will i continue using it?? Huge disappointment!

The most important muscle for aging is your legs. You avoid falls and improve balance. Stronger legs are associated with a bigger brain and slower cognitive decline. Having a strong set of legs is your key to staying independent as you get older.

@moneyacademyKE The World Bank and all other multilateral Organizations like BIS, WTO, IMF etc are all insiders. Hosts and at the same time parasites. They are not interested in public good. Dont be fooled. "Profits are privatized and losses are socialized".

@moneyacademyKE So, how does the IMF hold nations accountable? Do they really follow up to ensure funds are used for the intended purpose? Or are they in the business of lending nations for profit?

@machuche1 Adoption will come eventually. Anyone who understands or has lived through volatility or currency devaluations should understand BTC. Or atleast hedge using other asset classes. Financial illiteracy could be the biggest culprit.

Every African currency loses value against the dollar. Every year. That’s not pessimism, it’s just math. Dollar scarcity’s real in Africa. Makes you think what if you could hold your local currency digitally, move it instantly & swap to USD / any other currency when you need to?

@RufasKe Exactly. People who live in stable economies or currencies view BTC as just speculation. People who come from unstable economies and currencies understand BTC right away. Or easier.
