@StevePitt3 There’s a lot of arguments for and against however I’m glad we aren’t in Europe next season, give XA the money / tools / players to rebuild and get us back to top 4 ! Hopefully Board have seen the errors of their ways !!

Go back 20 years and @wivenhoetown_fc were in the same league as @BOREHAM_WOODFC. This season they narrowly missed out on promotion to the football league. We dropped down to step 7 (SEVEN). Utterly unacceptable. Bled dry and effectively turned into a private concern.

Xabi Alonso must be given full autonomy @ChelseaFC particularly over recruitment…… The current model simply doesn’t work.

It’s official, it’s a terrible season for Chelsea, the club world champions. No trophies, ninth in the table, danger of not qualifying for any European competition, players speaking out, fans protesting, managerial churn, inexperienced caretaker. Some of the players are culpable, not given enough, not taken responsibility when needed. But this is largely down to the owners, to their flawed approach to recruitment, to their lack of connection to the fanbase, to their astonishing naivety. Chelsea fans deserve better. They deserve more leaders on the field and any leader in the boardroom. They deserve more expertise in the recruitment department. Owners need a rethink. Club needs a reset. #CFC #FACupfinal #CHEMCI

Completely unacceptable performance by Chelsea. Embarrassing. No organisation, no heart, no fight, no pride, no leadership, no goal threat. It’s like they’ve given up at Brighton. Just because they’re near the beach doesn’t mean they’re allowed to be on it. Shameless performance. No wonder the fans are furious. These aren’t useless players, they’re internationals, which makes their abject showing at the Amex even worse. Overpaid underperformers. Liam Rosenior will probably pay the price for this string of shameful displays and results, he’s out of his depth, but he’s the symptom of the malaise at Chelsea, not the cause. Club needs some grown-ups, experienced football people in the boardroom, in the recruitment department and in the dressing-room. Chelsea are such a contrast to Brighton & Hove Albion, who are so well-run on and off the field. BlueCo has to look, listen and learn. Because Boehly and Eghbali are currently overseeing a self-inflicted shambles. #CFC

What an extraordinary story this is. Came in and spent a month on loan with us over xmas & NY then got injured but was outstanding from day one. In addition his attitude & application were 1st class. Fast forward 3 months and he is now a Champions League semi finalist 💙⚽️

Really sad to learn about the passing of former Southend and Colchester midfielder, Nicky Smith. A workhorse of a footballer. He regularly joined us for a kick about at the old Post Office Field during his time at Roots Hall. Taken far too young. Sleep tight, Smudger 🙏

Starmer playing football. The game passes him by. He’s probably one of those shite, talentless footballers who can only contribute by barking orders and taking all the throw ins…because it’s the only way they become visible during a game.
