Of course you're always making trade-offs: product, design, brand, prioritization, target customer, target market. Question: Do you write down what they are, and which way you're deciding? So that you're sure you're not self-contradictory? P.S. Now you have a strategy.

ISO guidance for screening great senior front-end / client-side app developers. Folks, Have you hired a great senior front-end / client-side app developer lately, or are you one? If so, any guidance you can share on a useful rubric to help assess?

The biggest secret of influencing people is to make it their idea, not yours. This appears to take slightly more time than pushing your idea & asking them for their feedback. And it takes a lot more skill with asking great questions. But it creates fantastic buy-in. Just magic.

@perreau @shreyas 😀 Ben, and there are *definitely* some people who will take tools like this, and use them for bad ends. I agree with @shreyas and have also seen bad actors use it for bad ends (and even gaslight that they’re not doing that). Not surprisingly, it comes down to the individual 😀

@stevesanderson @shreyas It was a figure of speech fellas. 😉Of course it’s not a good idea to be machiavellian about it. My point, hopefully well taken, is that there is a spectrum between people who need to be convinced it is their idea, and people who are malleable of mind enough to see yours.

@absolutelysid @shreyas Yeah, that matches my experience as well Siddhartha. Context matters, and lots of contexts are not as close to ideal as I wish they were.

@stevesanderson @shreyas You’re 💯 correct Steve! But the reality in almost every company is different. I don’t assess performance of PMs by idea ownership but it’s more about how entire company perceive things.
