After two weeks of intense pressure on the Health Service this is very worrying. Patients are waiting prolonged periods for admission, staff are exhausted and morale is very low. We need to do all we can to support the Health Service at this time.

@GaryMcAllister ICS’s should be looking at NI now given the scale of digital transformation that has taken place to date - not just with the EPR either. Just needs Epic to have a Primary Care module for GPs!

When Encompass finishes in Northern Ireland it will make NI the most digitally mature country in the UK&I. It will create the platform to grow NI to be the healthiest population and support modernised care pathways. Each ICS will be looking at NI to see the art of the possible.

@danielgoyal Can’t just be about pumping in money and people without some significant reform Dan, that just leads to inefficiency and a demand to crank the handle harder. Housing and Social Care are crucial to prevention, the NHS can’t be a catch all to - that’s part of the problem.

Maybe Streeting and Starmer will read it properly and join the dots and make some actual tough decisions - expand the NHS to meet the needs of the population. Only then can reform be safe, effective, and more than a political sound bite.
