@Steve_Grad I knew it was going to happen. REA reached out to me prior to the auction to make sure they were legit cards. I showed them Fleer's official mockup as proof. The auction sold, then the buyer listed the cards individually on eBay unsigned for $49.99. Now they have autos.

@Steve_Grad Great reference. Now you see how those cards are all over the place with most using his 2001 signature but the card didn't surface till 2010. Same situation with Donruss Willie Mays. I watched the unsigned card sell on eBay, then reappear graded with an auto on eBay.

@halleygator @CardPurchaser @PSAcard Those were sent to PSA/DNA (notice the "Trading Card" at the top instead of card name). I know Willie Mays did sign for Tri Star in 2010, but his vision was very poor. All of these cards are perfectly signed which gives the red flags. Some have his 2001 signature in 2010.

Round 2 of buyer beware. These cards were not signed or returned to Fleer. They were also part of the Sy Berger collection. The unsigned cards didn't surface till 2010. Majority of them now have a signature on them. @CardPurchaser @PSAcard

His reale value is down because he’s been signing so much lately. The demand will always be there for OT main cast and Mark’s wife thinks his value is up there with Harrison Ford. It’s not and never will be

Mark Hamill being a whiny, little bitch? Who would've ever thought? 🙄 Fans can't seem to wait to overpay for his autograph, cards OR photos...he continuously sells out on OPix orders...yet I can't seem to give my photo away. One of the few autographs I've regretted ordering.

This is an example of a great card with a “ugh” autograph. I learned this the hardware with a 1973 OPC Schmidt rookie. Always be sure to use the correct / quality perm marker pen or ballpoint pen. Whoever had this signed, used a dull fat tip sharpie.

Yet another forgery passed through PSA. These cards were never signed nor returned to Fleer. Notice the card is not numbered. The cards were auctioned off unsigned in 2010 by REA (Sy Berger collection). And yes, its in a PSA holder, not PSA/DNA @CardPurchaser @PSAcard

In March I documented rmcxtysadyk: 10,000+ eBay sales, $1M+ estimated volume, and 4,000+ compromised @beckettcollect -style cert numbers added to @CheckCOA.
That post reached a lot of collectors, and Cardlines / @SportsCardRadio covered it.

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve reviewed the items, and they are indeed counterfeit fake autographs with @Beckett-style stickers. They’ll be added to the @CheckCOA database tomorrow during the day.

How Fake Memorabilia Accounts Work Around eBay Controls
I have been watching a pattern on eBay accounts with little or no real selling history in sports memorabilia that looks designed to work around the internal controls $eBay uses for low-history sellers.
The pattern is not complicated. That is why it is dangerous.
This does not make the seller look trustworthy to a human buyer. The likely goal is to work around @eBay's internal risk scoring, new-seller limits, or category controls.

@Steve_Grad, this is exactly the issue. If Jordan signed jerseys with small cert cards are guaranteed fake, why are these @PSAcard and @beckettcollect numbers still live in the databases? I added these examples just today. Active cert lookups give scammers credibility. Why not disable or flag high-risk Jordan certs?

Also keep in mind if someone is selling a Jordan signed jersey with a small cert card it’s a guaranteed fake. Beckett and PSA have never done small cert cards on his autograph

Note to all: don’t buy Michael Jordan autographs unless it’s been verified by a top guy like Steve Grad. A sticker on eBay means jack. Stop it. It’s not a good deal or a fair deal. It’s just a bad idea.
