If this was football and the kid scored a walk off touchdown, would we be wringing our hands over this level of celebration?
Get the sticks out of your asses and let kids celebrate big moments in big ways.
Danny Kanell@dannykanell
The coaches and parents who allow this to go on are the problem. Instead of teaching kids how to play the game the right way and show respect for the opponent they’re worried about getting viral attention. Embarrassing.

@EricLDaugh lol it was cheaper before the “war”. Helping Americans like he promised. Sweet

🚨 JUST NOW: Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent reveals when Iran caves to President Trump, gas is going down into the $3 per gallon
LFG!
"Between June 20 and Sept. 20 we can have $3 gas!"
"We WILL be watching the gas stations. They raised prices VERY quickly...we hope they'll bring them down just as quickly as crude has come down, they've come down SUBSTANTIALLY in the past 10 days."
"I've been meeting with a lot of my Middle Eastern counterparts, the finance ministers, and they all say that once the Straits are open, they can start pumping again within one week."
English

@EricLDaugh I highly doubt any negotiations are ongoing. It’s all BS
English

@winincentive @IntuitMachine @DelwinStrategy @pati_marins64 I agree with the majority of your points. However the premise that we are attacking Iran because of nuclear weapons in my opinion is BS. It’s a good excuse to give the American people. But that’s not the reason. At least not the main reason.
English

1. I never said that I personally advocated striking Iran at this time. I did not. I was answering the guy's question. But whether the strikes were the best course of action or not, there are objectives that can now be achieved through the application of force.
2. I personally opposed the invasion of Iraq in 2003 as foolish. It was not just a matter of WMD - after 9/11 it was an opportunity to bring Iraq back into the world community with all non-Wahabist governments joining together against their shared threat: bin Laden & Al-Qaeda. CIA had 16 agents who could speak fluent Arabic on 9/11. Iraq had hundreds and potentially thousands. Very belatedly, U.S. realized this opportunity with Muammar Gaddafi but it was too late for him.
3. Just because WMD was not significant in Iraq in 2003 has nothing to do with whether it is significant in Iran in 2026. In poker you might fold for a pair of 2s. That doesn't mean someone else in the next hand is holding a pair of 2s and you can bet the farm, they could be holding a full house this time.
4. The destruction of Iran's nuclear weapons program is a matter of physical facilities, supplies, and experts. I agree changing the Supreme Leader of Iran does not necessarily change their intent for a nuclear weapon. But it MIGHT change it. Certainly with Khamenei, there was zero chance of Iran giving up its program - his whole identity is wrapped up in that effort.
5. Increased hostility against U.S. and Israel is certainly one adverse side-effect of this campaign. But ironically, Iran's psychotic episode of firing rockets and missiles at many, many countries like Oman, UAE, Iraq, Cypress, Jordan, Kuwait, & Saudi Arabia have so far actually STRENGTHENED U.S. relations with those countries. It could change, but who wants to stand up right now when missiles are inbound and alienate the country that can sell you Patriot missiles?

First Day: Iran's Retaliation Larger Than Expected, but Israel Maintains Firepower
The US, lacking the range for carrier-based air strikes, limited itself to launching Tomahawk missiles.
Based on just two different videos, both showing more than 20 Tomahawks launched, I estimate the US expended 10–15% of its Tomahawk inventory on the first day, hitting dozens of targets in Iran.
The Israeli attacks were even more aggressive, with two major waves on the first day striking over 200 targets on Iranian territory.
However, all strikes were launched from Iraqi airspace, indicating some continued Israeli caution regarding Iran's air defenses.
Iran is seeking to eliminate the American AN/TPY-2 radars, but these structures are highly mobile, with US crews able to relocate more than once a day. To locate them, Iran would need Chinese assistance and considerable agility.
Both Israel and the US heavily invested in drone operations for terrain monitoring to hunt for Iranian missile launchers, at least two large-scale launchers were identified and destroyed.
There are still no reports of naval combat, which also suggests that Iran's navy (with over 30 warships) remains largely intact, as does the entire US fleet, which is staying well back in the Arabian Sea.
On this first day, several strikes targeted mountain base exits to obstruct and delay the movement of Iranian launchers. Iranian radars were also hit, though in limited numbers. Iran has improved its guerrilla tactics for radars, which may be helping.
Israel likely also worked to obstruct known silo coordinates.
I see Israel repeating tactics from the last 12-day war.
On the Iranian side, the focus was on US bases in Gulf countries. At least 6–8 bases are under heavy bombardment, what I calculate as damage already in the billions of dollars, given that the Qatar base alone cost $10 billion.
Air defenses at these bases were largely exhausted on the first day, with few Patriot batteries still operational and showing low efficiency, as some footage demonstrates.
Iran also destroyed an AN/FPS-132 radar in Qatar and a radome in Bahrain, which probably housed a high-altitude radar or SATCOM system, both high-value assets.
Overnight, Iran is expected to maintain the missile pace, focusing on Israel and additional US bases.
I believe Iran will launch around 100 long-range missiles during this period.
This is a protracted conflict. On the first day, the Strait of Hormuz was already closed, as we had predicted here, and it has strong potential to drag in other Gulf countries.
On this first day, everything has unfolded as we anticipated over the last 15 days.

@winincentive @IntuitMachine @DelwinStrategy @pati_marins64 Brad the nuclear weapon theory, in my opinion, ran its course during Iraq. The concern is that eliminating one leader/leaders doesn’t guarantee you a favorable new leader. Nor does it eliminate the nuclear program. You also create more hostilities to the US and Israel.
English

Preventing Iran from fielding a nuclear weapon is a goal in and of itself. Multiple U.S. Presidents and world leaders have verbalized this policy. It's only Netanyahu and Trump who are doing something about it. Nothing else need be accomplished for the mission to be successful.
But if Iran is going to persist in launching weapons, then complete destruction of ALL of it's military-industrial complex like electronics and drone manufacturing will be carried out. That benefits its neighbors as well as Ukraine which has been hit by far more Iranian drones (via Russia) than Israel.

@eurofounder You fired your best employee because she “watched Netflix after work hours on her work laptop”? I hope whoever is in charge of keeping the coffee fresh doesn’t mess up. Hopefully said fired employee goes on to work for the competition and eats into your profits.
English

Just fired my best employee today
She was with us for 7 years
Perfect performance reviews, clients loved her
"Our compliance officer found something on your laptop" I told her
She went pale
"A VPN. You have been accessing American websites"
She started shaking
"It was just Netflix. The European catalog doesn't have the shows I want"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing
"So you bypassed European content regulations because you wanted more options?"
"Please. I'll delete it, it was only once and after work hours" she begged me
"The data already crossed American servers. There's no undoing that"
I handed her the termination papers and called for security to escort her out
I promoted the compliance officer the same day
That's the kind of initiative we need

@RGIII Lane Kiffin signed up to steward dozens of young men. Many of them are in the final moments of their football careers. The peak of their Everest. And he, the guy they signed up to run through walls for, left them high and dry in the biggest moment of their football lives.
Shame.

Lane Kiffin did what was right for his family and his career.

English

@danorlovsky7 That’s what is sad. Lane has made his coin. Why not build something in a place that with the new NIL you clearly can and gain a legacy. You win a National Championship with LSU big deal. Ask Orgeron.
English

Just to recap, Lane Kiffin is...
- Leaving Ole Miss for LSU
- Abandoning his team right before playoffs
- Throwing a temper tantrum because he also wants to finish the season
- Trying to poach players and staff on his way out
... And now won't even be at the team meeting to talk to his team. You're watching everything a man has built the last 6 years dwindling in real time.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger
Meanwhile, back here in Oxford, there is a scramble. A postponement of the team meeting, to 1 pm, is related to the university’s attempt to retain staff for the CFP run. There is now doubt that Lane Kiffin will be in attendance as his scheduled travel to Louisiana overlaps.
