@PaulTonkinson @PlantsBikesBass It's officially not a race, but if someone decides on the day they need to finish in front of a certain person, it becomes a race to them. It can be competitive although you may be blissfully unaware you are involved in someone's Olympic games. Parkrun is what YOU want it to be!

@PlantsBikesBass Its patently untrue to suggest nobody races against anyone else. Some do - some don’t Some chat to mates. Some sprint finish.

I started running parkrun in 2012 and I've volunteered 236 times. I've been a Run Director and Event Director because I love how it brings people together and encourages everyone to challenge themselves. It *is not* a competitive event and nobody races against anyone else.

@RunComPod ran the wilne 10k and recorded a chip time of 40:00; not sure if im delighted with the neatness of the time or I really wanted that extra second off 🤣. Wilne 10k is a great event BTW

@RunComPod stressful start to the weekend with train breaking down in Doncaster then Airbnb cancelled 30 mins before check-in. However absolutely delighted with a London Marathon course PB of 2:59:13 Age 52 😀
