Finally opened my C64 Ultimate...unfortunately, it has a pretty jarring crack. Not really sure what to do.

@commodoreofcl @JiltedValkyrie Same here. But since I am going to swap out this case for a clear one that I bought before… I’m not really concerned.

I drew a bunch of dots with Flair color pens 50 years ago. (first frame of the video.) Ran it through Grok AI. I think Grok understood the assignment.

@DJSnM @KiraJosei I think that people‘s personal feelings about living in a closed space with other people for an extended time sounds so abhorrent, they can’t imagine anyone volunteering do so.

No doubt there are lots of news stories and people talking about 'stranded' astronauts. This was never true, there was always a way home that could have been used. But the word 'stranded' gets used because most people don't know better, others do know but want engagement from people who don't know better, and ultimately, when looking for a snappy headline that has broad appeal it's difficult to come up with a better word that makes it clear what you're referring to.

@DJSnM @KiraJosei The fictional Mark Watney was stranded on Mars and needed rescue. The ISS astronauts got the opportunity to stay on the ISS longer, and took it.

What’s the most ambitious project you ever pulled off on a Commodore machine? For me using my Commodore 64 to control my kitchen appliances.

@DJSnM @inteldotwav This happened on a plane I was on 16 years ago. Everybody forgets too soon. You can’t assume things are getting worse without knowing the baseline.

@CNN Cats should be required on planes. Every plane should have its own cat.

@TM_Eubanks @physicsJ @esa The site of the first Martian settlement. Dig down inside to make an ice hotel. Live close enough to the surface to get light. Plenty of water and safety from radiation.

@physicsJ @esa What refreshes the surface of the ice? Even glaciers on Mars are covered with the usual red dust, why isn't this ice? .

@TM_Eubanks That’s very cool. Now they should do the “(estimated) galactic population of robotic interstellar objects.”

@NASAVoyager @NASA @NASAUniverse If there are, and have been, tens of thousands of curious spacefaring civilizations, and they sent out many solar system escaping science spacecraft, how many wandering spacecraft would there be in the Milky Way, right now?

#OTD 44 years ago, my twin Voyager 2 launched from Earth to tour the solar system. It’s incredible that we hold the record for longest lasting @NASA mission! You could say we have a thing for gold records. Catch up on four decades of space travel here: voyager.jpl.nasa.gov

@ConanOBrien That idea is dead on arrival. Can you imagine the overhead? Employees pay, med insurance, payroll taxes, workmans comp, building lease, food & booze costs… never work! Anybody that would do that is nuts.

@poppy_northcutt On a long round trip to Mars, simplifying waste handling might outweigh the medical and psychological issues. Or not!

@StevenHardison I think the pool of those signing up to go to Mars would be greatly diminished. Your friend must have had an exceptional amount of grit. I have known a couple of folks who had that procedure & they said living with your “guts in a bag”, as one of them described it, was hell.

@poppy_northcutt Yes. He had colon cancer, beat it, and it was reversed. Through the whole ordeal, he worked a desk job as if nothing was different. However, for the average person, it’s definitely not the preferred living situation.

@poppy_northcutt Well… No. On earth, hair quality is a sign of health and fitness. On the ISS, it serves no purpose. Might even damage air handling. — I’m surprised you have no comment about temporary colostomy!
