I will never understand what has happened since late February. It’s so stupid it’s impossible to comprehend. Israel had continuously degraded Iranian proxies since late 2023. Very successfully. US sanctions were killing the economy. We were in extra time. Then Washington decided to start a war, not against the upper echelons of government, but against the Iranian nation - thereby conflating the two in the minds of much of the populace. They gave Khamanei martyrdom, and - through killing a senior layer of the IRGC - permitted that organisation to renew itself. Younger men are more risk loving and always prone to escalation - they have a point to prove! None of this made any sense. In many ways it’s much more dumb than the invasion of Iraq. Maybe a whole other level.

Last time the west so flagrantly set a middle-eastern state on fire, few recorded the war crimes. Time to start counting them now
