Elliot Anderson can ridicule Manchester United all he wants. City has been miles ahead of United for years. However, this season United has a unique and golden opportunity to gain some genuine ground on Liverpool and City, both with new managers, and Arsenal fatigued after winning the title. To do that United — MUST — end 26/27 with another qualification to the Champions League. Ineos has promised that they know what they are doing, that management is provided with sufficient resources and that United will challenge for a title no later than next season. They have chosen their own path to get there. They have not listened to advice that we need marquee signings in the midfield. They have not listened to advice that we need extensive depth to survive both in Europe and the PL. History is clear — a signing doesn’t have to be expensive to be successful. I personally will not hold Ineos accountable if we fail to a win a title before the end of next season. BUT — if we fail to qualify for the CL in 26/27 and its due to lack of owner support — it is simply inexcusable. Without CL football our debt will continue to increase — as it have done every season under Ineos. Conditions couldn’t be better after Carrick’s run. There are no excuses. If they cannot even make us a top 5 club in quite unique and perfect circumstances — we can’t trust our owners any longer. And — if — 26/27 is another disaster, we cannot be put off from protesting by leaks to media that we will sign players like Vini Jr and Bellingham for 27/28. Because when we come to the summer of 28’ after a failed season and Glineos have promised a big investment to get back into the CL — we should all know what will happen. The reports will suddenly change completely, and it will be ’United is put off by the price tag put on Bellingham by Real and his wage demands’.
