Bro I seriously thought this was going to be a new God of war clone, but it seems like everybody is just doing the Spider-Man clone. Which is just a clone of Batman Arkham asylum which is also a clone of assassin's creed. I freaking hate this. It's less about the actual game playing more about cinematics. I want a decent combat system not this. I have so many problems with this type of system I would have to make a list. Here it is my list and predictions. 1. Long attack animations that keep me out of the game and just watching an animation. It doesn't make it fun and I get less control as a result. 2. Move assist toward enemies, this makes the game inconsistent, and positioning does not matter as much. When enemies attack they also get moved toward me, keeping me on the defensive rather than being able to properly position myself away from their attacks, then immediately capitalize on the opening. This makes it so I don't have a really consistent understanding of the battlefield and what my next moves are to be. 3. Already from this trailer I can tell about the zoomed in camera, this makes it hard for me to get a proper read of the battlefield and to be able to manage multiple attackers at once. All just because the game wants to look more cinematic and gives me a more up close and personal view of Logan tearing through enemies. The problem with that is, I will end up getting hit by enemies behind me cuz I can't see them. 4. Grounded combat, this wouldn't be a bad thing if we were in the age of the PS2 where there would be tons of complexity and interesting Dynamics despite being grounded, but because we are living in the modern era, all that means is the character can be less of a actual superhero, bouncing around and jumping around and doing air combos and playing like a video game, and more like a walking talking movie. All the attacks are going to be relegated to mostly grounded combos, boring and sluggish interactions, and being unable to do anything better than what a human could do despite the fact I'm supposed to be playing as a superhero. 5. I know that this game is going to have walking and talking sections which are going to hurt replayability and it's going to suck balls. 6. Attacks are going to be very single target, literally gluing myself and Hyper fixating on one enemy as I rip them to shreds rather than my attacks being able to have some kind of area of effect to them by wide arcing swings that hit multiple opponents. I didn't like it in spider-man, I'm not going to like it in Anante and I'm definitely going to hate it here. 7. Dismembering foes is not actually going to be a gameplay mechanic that you would see in something like ninja gaiden, or metal gear solid rising revengeance, it's just going to be a cinematic thing for flavor and "cool factor" yet another example of gameplay regressing from video games that were made nearly two decades ago. 8. Enemy design is going to be extremely shallow and lacking, mainly reusing the same five maybe six enemy types just putting different clothes on them depending on the level. Making the game even less interesting. 9. It's probably going to have some yellow, or white marking to tell the player where to go because they can't just design levels or worlds to be intuitive to explore through. It's going to hand hold the player. 10. The focus on realism is going to limit this game in its mechanics, performance, and overall memorability. If I want to play a game where I am essentially wolverine, I'm just going to modify Ninja gaiden 2 using the falcon talons or whatever they're called, and make wolverine skin. That would at least play better and fit with the character.
